The Study Of Pound's English Translation From The Perspective Of Interpretative Translation Theory

Poetry is a kind of language with a unique form and connotation.Translation involves faithfully reproducing the form and meaning of the original poetry in another language,which is difficult to balance.Interpretative translation theory has certain guiding significance for poetry translation.The purpose of translation is to let the reader obtain the original information.Therefore,the translator must deal with the necessary processing according to the target language.There are many ways to process the original language."Interpretative translation"is a method of adding words or phrases to a translation,including transliteration,adaptation,enjambment and other methods.And all these methods can be called"interpretative translation".Pound is an American poet and poetry translator.Although he wrote many famous poems,the greatest contribution he made was to launch the imagist movement with his colleagues,which made him become the pioneer of imagism in America in the 20th century.Pound's imagism is not only reflected in his own poems,but also deeply integrated into his translated poems.From the perspective of culture,this thesis expounds the enlightenment significance of interpretive translation theory to poetry translation under the background of global culture by analyzing Pound's poetry translation.The first chapter is the introduction of the whole thesis;chapter two expounds studies of Pound's translation of Chinese poetry into English and the theory of interpretative translation;chapter three introduces interpretative translation theory in detail,including its source,evolution and application.The fourth chapter presents Pound's poetry and poetry translation,which focuses on the appreciation of his famous works such as The Cantos and Cathay.Chapter five is the core content of this thesis.In addition to introducing the translation of Chinese poetry in general practice,the application of interpretative translation in Pound's translated works is also analyzed;this paper makes a summarization in chapter six.
