Based on the first part of Chinese aesthetic thought "harmony" in the book The Introduction of Xishan Qin,written by Xu Shangying,an ancient Qin(Chinese ancient Harp)performer,who lived in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.This thesis then analyses,understands and draws lessons from the three key points of Xu's pursuit of "harmony",namely "string and finger harmony "," finger and tone harmony " and “tone and yun(melody and meaning)harmony ",which triggers the artistic thoughts of Chinese characteristics for yangqin performance.During the course of yangqin localization in the past 400 years,not only the forms of musical instruments and stringed instruments have greatly changed,but also the performing techniques have more Chinese music language in music expression.The combination of Qin(Chinese ancient Harp)and bamboo shows the temperament and charm of Chinese traditional music,and forms the unique artistic characteristics of yangqin performance.The formation of Chinese characteristics of yangqin originates from the infiltration of Chinese aesthetics and culture.In author's opinion,the Chinese aesthetic thoughts in The Introduction of Xishan Qin have great guiding significance for the deepening and upgrading of yangqin performance art.Through the three steps of string and bamboo harmony,bamboo and tone harmony,tone and yun(melody and meaning)harmony,this thesis hopes to form a kind of inner and outer integration and agreement for yangqin performance,so as to better interpret Chinese traditional music and highly enhance the playing art of yangqin performance.
