During the Mongolian Yuan period, the four capital cities were established successively, namely,Karakorum,Yuan Shang Du,Yuan Da Du and Yuan Zhong Du.The study of Mongolian Yuan capital in academic circles focuses on the construction specifications, economic situation, military defense and cultural education of the capital city, and the research on unearthed artifacts of the capital site is insufficient.Different quantities of porcelain were unearthed in the above four capital cities. However, due to the small quantity and rough production of porcelain unearthed in Zhongdu site of Yuan Dynasty, this paper only carried out a preliminary study on the porcelain unearthed in the other three capital cities.Through the analysis of the porcelain unearthed in the three capital city sites,it is found that they are mainly from cizhou kiln, longquan kiln, jun kiln and jingdezhen kiln. But there are also differences among the porcelain unearthed in the three capitals. The unearthed porcelains in Karakorum are large in number and rich in variety, including the porcelains in different periods of song, liao and yuan dynasties. The unearthed porcelain in Shangdu site of Yuan Dynasty is mainly for daily use, while the unearthed porcelain in Dadu site of Yuan Dynasty is not only for daily use,but also for display, ornamental and study. The reason for the differences of unearthed porcelain in the three capitals sites is directly related to the different characteristics of the capitals. The rulers of the Mongolian Empire faced with the inclusive mentality of various cultures, which made the unearthed porcelains of the Mongolian Empire present diversified cultural factors. The traditional Chinese culture, foreign Islamic culture and Grassland Culture of ethnic minorities all showed on the unearthed porcelains. In Mongolian and Yuan Dynasty, the unification of the north and the south, the convenience of transportation, but also more conducive to the transport of porcelain, porcelain trade showed a prosperous trend.Because of the rapid development of porcelain in this period,we can also see that the Mongolian dominated rulers attach importance to porcelain.
