Zhang Henshui is a great master of modern popular literature.His chapter-return novels are quite famous.However,in his nearly half-century creative career,prose creation also occupies a large proportion,which is an important basis for us to understand Zhang Henshui and his works.Among them,artistic prose,such as the Hushan Nostalgia Record in the 1920s,the Journey to the West in the 1930s,the Two Capitals in the 1940s,The Mountain Window Pieces,Eastern Travel Essays,The Return of the Hometown,Memoir,s of Mountain City and the works of Beijing-Shanghai Travel Magazine and Northwest Line in the 1950s are all classics in Zhang Henshui's prose,representing the real achievements of Zhang Henshui's prose.Throughout his artistic prose,we can find that there are obvious two tendencies of elegance and earthliness.The thesis is mainly based on the prose text,analyzes the elegant and vulgar characteristics of Zhang Henshui's artistic prose in terms of content and artistic features,and explores the causes of his elegant and vulgar characteristics.The thesis mainly discusses three parts:introduction,text and conclusion:In the introduction part,through the research results of Zhang Henshui's prose,the current situation and existing problems of Zhang Henshui's prose are discussed,and the topic and significance of the topic are further clarified.At present,the academic circles have certain concerns about Zhang Henshui's prose,but most of them focus on individual works,and there is still a blank in the study of the overall artistic style of his prose.On the basis of classifying Zhang Henshui's prose,we take his artistic prose as the research object and further analyze his elegant and vulgar features.The first chapter analyzes the content of Zhang Henshui's artistic prose,and analyzes its elegant and vulgar features from two aspects:literati's monologue and citizen's dialogue.On the one hand,Zhang Henshui starts from his own heart,depicts the elegant atmosphere of daily life and the natural human landscape,expresses his traditional literati taste and life thinking;on the other hand,he pays attention to the market,depicts the life of the city and the living conditions of the people,and expresses the customs of the city,and social reality.The second chapter studies the artistic characteristics of his prose,and explores its elegant art from three aspects:language,style and artistic conception description.Its language features are reflected in the use of elegant classical Chinese and vulgar vernacular.The classical Chinese words are concise,short in sentence pattern,and strive for quaintness.The vernacular language absorbs the Beijing dialect succinct and is easy to understand.In style,there is a dilute and peaceful work of the unique spirit,and a humorous and funny work that is bitter and straightforward.In the depiction of artistic conception,the classical imagery in the natural world is selected to create a classical poetic environment,and the imagery in life is used to create a living situation.Several aspects are independent of each other,interacting and intermingling,creating a magnificent art scrolls.The third chapter explores the causes of the elegant and vulgar features of Zhang Henshui's artistic prose.The education of Chinese traditional culture,the temperament of literati,and the influence of ancient Chinese prose made Zhang Henshui pursue the elegant art form,The role of the reporter also makes his prose with the characteristics of the newspaper style,and more realistic with the changes of the times.The conclusion part affirms that Zhang Henshui's artistic prose is a work of art that can withstand the test of time,leaving an artistic style of modern and prose.
