| As an important part in creating flower-and-bird paintings,"sketching" has been a hot topic among painters and theorists in past dynasties.The application of "sketching" plays a key role in the innovation and development of flower-and-bird painting.Since the 20 th century,the introduction of the concept of western sketching changed people's understanding of traditional "sketching",the meaning of "sketching" was further expanded,and flower-and-bird painting was also affected by painting,showing a variety of ways of expression and novel themes and techniques.In contemporary meticulous flower-and-bird painting,the application of "sketching" is more extensive.It is shown in the link of creation and plays an important guiding role in it.The concept of "sketching" in Chinese flower-and-bird painting has been constantly adjusted and expanded with the development of history,and "sketching" plays an important role in meticulous flower-and-bird painting.Under the background of multi-culture,the application of "sketching" in meticulous flower-and-bird painting is studied.This article is based on abundant references,investigations and researches and takes "sketching" as the breakthrough point;it looks for the historical roots of the word "sketch" and its meaning,and summarizes “sketching” and ancient meticulous flower-and-bird painting from the aspects of “ the status of ‘sketching' in the creation of ancient meticulous flower-and-bird painting” and “the relationship between flower-and-bird painting and ‘sketching'”,so as to analyze 3 points where "sketching" is expressed in contemporary Chinese meticulous flower-and-bird paintings: first,spatial arrangement of painting is realized by "sketching";second,techniques and forms are found through "sketching";third,artistic conception and spirit are explored in “sketching”.Combined with my own practice of creation,the application of "sketching" in my meticulous flower-and-bird painting series "View · Image" is illustrated. |
