Research On Semantic Generating Pattern Of Dietary Words And Expressions In Modern Chinese

This paper takes the typical representative core words of eating verbs "chi?he?tun?yao?jiao" as the research object,sorts out and classifies the usage deviating from its original meaning.On this basis,the idealized cognitive model theory and conceptual integration theory are used to analyze the process of semantic generation,and to attempt to explain the cognitive mechanism of semantic derivation.The main body of the paper is divided into five chapters.The specific contents are as follows:Chapter 1:Introduction.First of all.it defines the object of study and mainly introduces the diversification of the extended usage of the five core verbs:"chi?he?tun?yao?jiao".Secondly,it elaborates the significance of topic selection,such as enriching the research results of eating verbs,expanding the cognitive perspective of eating verbs in linguistics,and providing reference for dictionary compilation and cross-cultural communication.Then,it introduces two theoretical foundations of this paper:idealized cognitive model and conceptual integration theory.The image patterns,metaphor patterns and metonymy patterns in the idealized cognitive model are consistent with the semantic construction of modern Chinese eating verbs in different collocations.Using idealized cognitive model to explore the semantic situation of modern Chinese eating verbs has a strong explanatory power.Conceptual integration theory holds that metaphor can reveal the process of semantic generation and explain the relationship between semantics.Finally,it explains the research methods and corpus sources of this paper,summarizes the related research results and indicates the research direction of this paper.Chapter 2:The semantic generation mode of the core word "chi" in the eating category.It exhaustively enumerates the expressions of "chi" and classifies them into seven categories:Extensions that only refer to the meaning of "chi"?Metonymy occurring in the object of "chi",the meaning of "chi" remaining unchanged?The object of "chi" is metonymized,the meaning of "chi" is extended?The object of "chi"is metaphorical,the meaning of "chi" is extended?The phrases of "chi" are metaphorical as a whole?The phrases of "chi" are metonymized as a whole?The object of "chi" is metonymized,phrases are metaphorical as a whole.On this basis,it sorts out the semantic expression of "chi",and then analyzes the conceptual integration process of metaphorical meaning of "chi".Chapter 3:The semantic generation model of the words and structures related to the core word "he" in the eating category.Compared with the high frequency and rich semantic word-"ehi",the verb "he" has fewer expressions and semantic content.Studies have shown that the expression of "he" can be divided into three categories:Extensions that only refer to the meaning of "he"?The object of "he" is metonymic and the meaning of "he" remains unchanged?The overall metaphor of the phrase "he".On the whole,the use of "he" expression is relatively fewer,and the systematic performance of its semantic derivation process is not strong.At the same time,based on the four-character of "chi and he" in Chinese,we find that it has two distinct formal and logical characteristics,namely,enumeration and implication.Chapter 4:The semantic generation patterm of vocabulary and structure related to eating edge words.Study the related metaphor or metonymy mapping problems that occur when "tun?yao?jiao" are projected into other cognitive domains throughout the eating process.Chapter 5:Remaider and Conclusion.After the induction and analysis of synchronic semantic patterns of core eating verbs,it is found that diachronic development or the understanding of synchronic semantic patterns provide a new perspective,so a preliminary study is made in the last section.Firstly,the etymology of eating verbs in modem Chinese is discussed.The modern Chinese eating verbs are divided into five categories according to the“?”?“"?”?“?”?“??“other”parts of the radicals:modern Chinese eating verbs with the radicals of“?”?modern Chinese eating verbs with the radicals of“(?)”?moder Chinese eating verbs with the radicals of“?”?modem Chinese eating verbs with the radicals of“?”?“Other Classes”modern Chinese eating verbs,and its original sememe is analyzed;Secondly,from the perspective of word-formation,this paper analyzes the transformation of eating verbs"sai?fu?cuo?min?xian" from non-eating verbs to eating verbs.The concluding part summarizes the whole paper and sort out the extended expressions of "chi?he?tun?yao?jiao"."chi" has the most extended semantics,and the process of semantic generation is the most systematic.The category of "he" has less extended semantics,and the process of semantic generation is not systematic.The metaphorical and metonymic expressions of the eating marginal words "tun?yao?jiao" are fewer,which is related not only to their low frequency of use,but also to their lower level category in essence.This paper investigates the etymology of modern Chinese eating verbs.The radicals" ??(?)??????????????”are closely related to the meaning of "eating",the original meaning of the modern Chinese eating verbs consisting of the albove radicals is to express the meaning of eating.Based on metaphorical thinking of similarity and metonymic thinking of relevance,the words "sai?fu?cuo?min?xian"are transformed from non-eating verbs to eating verbs.The lexical semantics are by no means immutable,and the diversity and ambiguity of vocabulary and related expressions are not irregular.If conventional arbitrariness is the first principle of language,then motivational pursuit based on cognition is an important step in exploring the arguability of language.Arbitrariness and motivation together guarantee the self-organization and orderly development of language.This paper is to explore the semantic derivation model of eating verbs,which is actually to explore the mechanism of semantic derivation.
