| Till now,there are few theses focusing on the short stories in Stephen King's Night Shift from the perspective of Archetypal Criticism.Therefore,within a frame of Jungian Archetypal Criticism,this dissertation is aimed at providing a psychological perspective to the short stories in the Night Shift.Through the investigation into three different layers of archetypes—characters,events,and setting places,this dissertation attempts to reveal what King describes in the Night Shift are the widespread psychological problems existing among modern people all around the world.Therefore,the dissertation in the end emphasizes the importance of paying more attentions to psychological health and of dealing with mental problems in time. |
