The Use Of Body Language In Drama Performance

Drama is the art of action,Action is the core element for actor's shaping role.Apart from using lines,body language is one of the crucial method of expression of role in drama stage.Body language not only let the audience see the external image of an actor but preciously reveal the provisions of the situation.it can express the character's inner world directly and accurately.Makes the character more vivid and more infectious for audiences.Actor takes the body as the main part and merge together with drama.It shows the limbs expression in drama with simple body movements,and break the boundary of a language expression.It can break the barriers between spectators and actors to the maximum and achieve the highly resonant effect.As a result,the skill and ability of the actors to use body language is the key to the performance level of the play.This paper shows that body language is an important support for the creation of the role,illustrate the particularity of body language in three different aspects,body language is restricted by given situation;body language not only need reality but also need stage expression;This article has always discussed the related problems combined with the practice of campus drama.And elaborated the problems existing in the use of body language by non-professional actors in campus drama practice and offer solutions.
