The violin concerto Butterfly Lovers was created by the famous Chinese composers Chen Gang,He Zhanhao and others in the 1950 s.The work uses Chinese folk music as the material and incorporates the artistic techniques of Western music.It can be described as a “pioneering attempt” in the early days of New China.The collision between Chinese culture and Western culture not only shows the elements of Chinese culture to foreign countries,but also deepens the popularity of Western instrumental music in China.The advent of the violin concerto Butterfly Lovers marks Chinese people's minds and feelings to stand on the traditional culture and accept the world culture.This thesis is divided into three parts: The first part is about the introduction of the composer of the violin concerto The Butterfly Lovers,and the structural combing of this work's development.Through the analysis of the creation background and author's introduction of this work,the style and characteristics of this work are gradually found.The second part is an in-depth study of the creating style,playing skills of the violin concerto The Butterfly Lovers.The third part is the comparative analysis of the performances of many musicians in this piece of music,mainly focusing on Chinese violinist Yu Lina and American violinist Gil Shaham.
