Li Peifu is a contemporary writer of Henan nationality and one of the representative writers of the "literary army of Henan".For many years,he has maintained his concern for the Central Plains.Li Peifu,who has been crawling on the land of the Central Plains,penetrates the writing consciousness of the Central Plains into his novel creation.In his novels,the characters’ concepts,behavior and survival background all have the characteristics of the Central Plains.The plain trilogy composed of "The Gate of the Sheep","The Lantern of the City" and "The Book of Life" shows the unique life state of the Central Plains progressively.Whether the living conditions of the people in Central Plains are reasonable or not and the development of the people’s character in Central Plains have always been the content of Li Peifu’s thinking.These three works are about from the 1950 s to the early 21 st century.During this period,China has stepped from the planned economy era to the market economy era,and the pace of reform and opening up has gradually entered the inland Central Plains along the coast.In this case,the Central Plains countryside is also experiencing unprecedented changes,a large number of rural children from the countryside to the city,resulting in a series of problems also triggered the author’s thinking.This paper mainly explores the "Central Plains Consciousness" in Li Peifu’s novel creation from three aspects.Chapter one discusses the main reasons for Li Peifu’s creation of "Central Plains Consciousness" are his childhood experience in the countryside and his consciousness of seeking cultural roots in adulthood.Chapter two shows the characteristics of rural folk customs in Central Plains through Li Peifu’s representative writing of "food" culture,"house" culture and Central Plains dialect.Chapter three shows the characteristics of rural folk customs in Central Plains under the background of traditional culture and realistic development of Central Plains.The analysis of "merits and demerits" of the people reflects Li Peifu’s deep concern for the development of the primary and secondary schools.Chapter IV discusses the significance of this writing style to cultural China.Li Peifu,based in the countryside of the Central Plains,conveys the cultural value that the writers of the Central Plains adhere to,whether it is the description of the traditional Central Plains culture,the characteristics of the Central Plains people or the embodiment of the spirit of the times in his works.Li Pei-fu’s writing style,rooted in the local but not confined to the local,adheres to the tradition while reflecting on the tradition,which gives his creation a broader vision and horizon.Li Pei-fu’s conscious thinking about the significance of the Central Plains in Chinese literature also shows the depth and breadth of literature. |
