A Study On Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi

Zhang Dafu of Wuxian County was active in Suzhou in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.There were more than ten Chuanqi and some pieces of music handed down from generation to generation.This paper takes Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi as the research object,mainly focusing on the internal contradictions and the setting of characters in his Chuanqi creation,comprehensively considering the influence of the era background and social concepts on Zhang Dafu,and exploring the individuality and value of his creation.The main body of the paper is divided into three parts.The first chapter is textual research.It combs Zhang Dafu's life and creation with limited reliable materials.It basically determines the name and scope of Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi works,roughly classifies the sources of Chuanqi materials and try to systematically study the basic situation of Zhang Dafu.In the second chapter,starting from the factor of internal contradictions,the author summarizes the organizational techniques of internal contradictions in Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi,and focuses on the expression of social conflict and internal conflict in his Chuanqi works.Firstly,this chapter defines the concept and nature of drama conflict.On this basis,it divides the organization of internal contradictions in Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi into two categories:narration and transfer.Combining with detailed text analysis,i t explores the realistic spirit and civilian consciousness contai ned t herein.The third chapter starts with Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi characters,in order to excavate the social concept and cultural connotation contained in his Chuanqi creation.This chapter chooses the three characters as the breakthrough point,aiming at exploring the historical,fame and wealth and ethics in Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi.This chapter pays attention to other similar characters and plots in Zhang Dafu's works,and extends them to the Chuanqi creation in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.Also,it tries to find out the creative concept and value orientation of Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi in the horizontal and vertical comparison.In summary,this paper argues that Zhang Dafu's Chuanqi is influenced by the social background of turbulence and development.On the basis of the overall style of paying attention to the real people's livelihood in Suzhou,it shows a creative tendency of seeking for novelty,which is embodied in paying attention to the change of organizational mode and psychological description in the depiction of internal contradictions and characters,which also reflects the history of Chuanqi in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
