As the masters of the new era,college students must have good moral and emotional qualities,positive interpersonal concepts and correct social behavior norms.In recent years,the incidents of wounding people on college campus have occurred frequently,and the news that post-90 s college students are indifferent to others have been propagated.So if college students have the emotion of benefiting others,positively sympathize with and understand others,will it be helpful for them to make prosocial behaviors? Therefore,based on the existing problems,this study explores the influence of college students’ emotion of dedication and empathy on prosocial behavior from the aspects of cognition and behavior.Experiment 1 explored whether college students’ emotion of dedication and empathy level influence on prosocial behavior cognition,using intergroup design of 2(Emotion of dedication: high,low)X 2(Empathy level: high,low),and the dependent variables were the reaction time of processing pictures,the reaction time of judging pictures and the score of prosocial degree of pictures.The experimental results show that :(1)with the processing time of pictures as the dependent variable,the main effect of the emotion of dedication is significant,and the college students with high emotion of dedication have faster processing time of pictures.The main effect of empathy was significant,and the response time of college students with high empathy was faster.The interaction between the two was significant.The processing reaction time of the high emotion of dedication and low empathy was faster than that of the low emotion of dedication and low empathy,while the processing reaction time of the high emotion of dedication and high empathy was not significantly different from that of the low emotion of dedication and high empathy.(2)taking the judgment time of pictures as the dependent variable,the main effect of the emotion of dedication was significant,and the judgment time of college students with high emotion of dedication was shorter.The main effect of empathy was significant,and college students with high empathy took less time to judge the images.The interaction between the two is significant.Compared with the students with low emotion of dedication and low empathy,the students with high emotion of dedication and low empathy have shorter reaction time to judge the pictures,while the students with high emotion of dedication and high empathy have no significant difference in the time to judge the pictures.(3)taking the score of prosocial degree of pictures as the dependent variable,the main effect of the emotion of dedication was significant,and college students with high emotion of dedication think that the content presented by pictures was more beneficial to others or the society.The main effect of empathy was significant.College students with high empathy thought that the contents presented in pictures were more beneficial to others or the society.The interaction between the two is significant.College students with a high emotion of dedication and a low empathy think that the content presented by the picture is more beneficial to others or the society than those with a low emotion of dedication and a high empathy.College students with a high emotion of dedication and a high empathy think that the content presented by the picture is more beneficial to others or the society than those with a low emotion of dedication and a high empathy.Experiment 2 discussed the influence of the emotion of dedication and the empathy level on the prosocial behavior of college students after considered the influence of environment,using a mixed experimental design of 2(Environment: safe and dangerous)X 2(emotion of dedication: high and low)X 2(empathy level: high and low)was adopted,and the dependent variable was the possibility of making prosocial behavior.The experimental results show that: the main effect of environmental factors is significant,and college students are more likely to make prosocial behavior in the safe environment;The main effect of the emotion of dedication was significant,and college students with high emotion of dedication were more likely to make prosocial behavior.The main effect of empathy was significant.College students with high empathy were more likely to engage in prosocial behavior.The interaction among the three factors is significant.In the security environment,college students with high emotion of dedication and high empathy are more likely to make prosocial behaviors than those with low emotion of dedication and low empathy,and college students with high emotion of dedication and high empathy are more likely to make prosocial behaviors than those with low emotion of dedication and low empathy.Under the dangerous environment,college students with low emotion of dedication and high empathy are more likely to make prosocial behaviors than those with low emotion of dedication and low empathy,while the difference between high emotion of dedication and low empathy is not significant.The analysis of the results shows that the college students who are rich in emotion of dedication and have high level of empathy can faster processing the information of prosocial behavior and make corresponding judgement promptly,and also they are more likely to carry out corresponding prosocial behavior in safe or dangerous environment.
