Metacognition is the cognition of cognition.Metacognition includes metacognitive knowledge, metacognitive monitoring, metacognitive experience and metacognitive control.Metacognitive monitoring and metacognitive control are collectively called metacognitive monitoring.Metacognitive monitoring plays an important role in the process of individual learning and selection. To a certain extent,it guides the learning process of learners, judges individual learning degree or learning results, and then adjusts individual behavior. This process will be affected by many factors, such as time allocation, individual emotional state, the nature of materials and so on.This paper chooses two factors, learning strategy and social cues,to study their roles in metacognitive monitoring. This research combines the questionnaire survey method with the experimental method and is divided into three parts. The first part is an investigation and study. The first grade students of a high school in Shijiazhuang City are taken as the subjects to investigate the use of English vocabulary learning strategies; The second and third parts are experimental studies. In the experimental part,English and Chinese word pairs are used as learning materials. Both Experiment 2 and Experiment 3 are based on the results of the study.Taking the most commonly used learning strategies and social cues of different frameworks as research variables, the E-prime experimental procedure is designed to explore the effects of metacognitive control and metacognitive monitoring on learners' confidence judgment and choice. The conclusions are as follows:1.The use of learning strategies of the freshmen in this school is in the order of cognitive strategy, compensation strategy, social strategy, memory strategy, affective strategy and metacognitive strategy. The most frequently used cognitive strategies are re-learning strategies.2.The types of re-reading learning strategies have a significant impact on test scores and first confidence judgment, which shows that the test scores and first confidence judgments of the decentralized re-learning strategy group are higher than those of the centralized re-learning strategy group.3.The types of re-learning strategies and the types of social cues in different frameworks have an impact on the second confidence judgment of the subjects.Under the same type of re-reading learning strategies, the accuracy of the second confidence judgment and the second confidence judgment of the positive frame effect social cue group were better than that of the negative frame effect social cue group.4.Both confidence judgments were underestimated, but compared with the first confidence judgment, the second confidence judgment was more accurate.5.The types of re-learning strategies and framework social cues have an impact on metacognitive control.Under the strategy of focusing on learning, the subjects of positive frame social cue group tend to change their choices, while those of negative frame social cue group tend to change their choices.Under the strategy of decentralized re-learning,there was no significant difference in the choice change of social cues of different frameworks.
