Theory of mind is an important social cognitive ability, which is significant to interpersonal communication and social life.Since children acquire theory of mind, this ability developed to mature.Until the adult, individual differences still exist in the theory of mind.Recently, researchers have proposed Two Systems Theory. This theory puts forward that children after 4years old and adults have two theory of mind systems. One is an earlyOdeveloping, efficient, and automatically operating Too system and a laterOdeveloping, inefficient, and not automatically operating Too system. Two Systems Theory puts forward that implicit theory of mind and explicit theory of mind are two parallel systems, which means that the relation between implicit theory of mind and explicit theory of mind is not relevant. However, studies found that children's performance in the implicit theory of mind tasks and explicit theory of mind tasks are relevant, and the researchers based on the premise that implicit theory of mind doesn't need cognitive resource and implicit theory of mind doesn't need cognitive resource. It's concluded that the relation between implicit theory of mind and explicit theory of mind is significant correlated. But some researches found that implicit theory of mind also needs cognitive resource. Thus,on the one hand, whether implicit theory of mind need cognitive resources remains to be studied. On the other hand,if implicit theory of mind needs cognitive resources, the researchers queried the correlation between implicit theory of mind and explicit theory of mind. This study is to investigate the influence of cognitive load to the implicit theory of mind and its relation with explicit theory of mind.In the study 1,The subjects of this study are chosen from 24 adults, age from 21—27 years old.We use theory of mind reasoning task to measure the explicit theory of mind, use an adopted SallyOAnn task to measure the implicit theory of mind, then measure the relation between two tasks. In study 2,the subjects of this study are chosen from 29 adults, age from 19 — 28 years old,a dualOtask method was employed to investigate the impact of executive load on eye movements in an implicit SallyOAnne falseObelief task, and we measure the relation between the implicit theory of mind under different inhibitory control levels and the explicit theory of mind. The result shows:(1)The relation between implicit theory of mind and explicit theory of mind is significant correlated.(2)The inhibit control responsible for implicitly tracking beliefs.(3)The relation between implicit theory of mind and explicit theory of mind is not owing tothe systems, but the cognitive resources.
