This paper mainly analyzes the Waste living circumstances in Kazuo Ishiguro 's early novels.Kazuo Ishiguro is the winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature. His novels have different themes and styles. However,by studying his early three works, there is a strong continuity and repetitiveness. The three novels,A pale view of hills,The Artist of Floating World and The Remains of the Day,in which the characters all have a kind of Waste of their lives. When they were young, they had a firm belief in the future, however, because of that belief, they went on the wrong way of life.In their twilight years, they look back and discover that they have wasted their lives and that they have encountered difficulties in their lives.Such a Waste of life became the theme of Ishiguro 's early works.Kazuo Ishiguro called the theme "a sad waste" and all he has to do is write "How to waste your life".The Waste is not negative but a positive Waste. The positive significance lies in the fact that the protagonists have been striving to make progress, but because of the narrow vision of their own or blind trust in others, they have wasted time and lost their lives.Kazuo Ishiguro has elevated the Waste into a universal dilemma by examining the circumstances of the lives of Ogata,Ono and Stevens. The novel also leads readers to think about how the small people swept by the tide of the social times choose or cultivate their own meaning of life, how to face their own desires and how to deal with their own emotional confusion. When the spiritual connection between the past and the present breaks, how will people face the break, repair the break, and realize the spiritual recovery again. The paper is mainly divided into three parts:The first part is mainly to define the concept of "early novels" and Waste phenomenon.Through the introduction of the contents of the three novels of A pale view of hills,The Artist of Floating World and The Remains of the Day,and the novelist's definition of "early" to define the concept of "early novel";The “Waste phenomenon” is defined in terms of performance, creator self-interpretation,and untranslatability of Waste. The second part is the focus of this article. This part mainly reads the text and interprets the life situation of the person who encounters " the wasting living circumstances" from the details. From the discovery of the Waste living circumstances, the reflection of the Waste living circumstances and the escape of the Waste living circumstances, from the shallow and deep, from the narrative perspective, narrative identity, narrative language and other aspects, the narrative tension of the Waste living circumstances is discussed in depth. The third part analyzes the philosophical connotation of the Waste living circumstances, sums up two unique views which are rich in philosophical thoughts," Cross-examination of life" and "Being born to life".By interpreting the details in the text and combining Kazuo Ishiguro 's immigrant identity, this part analyzes the confusion about life and history, and clarifies the most important of the connotations of the Waste living circumstances. This paper holds that the writing of the Waste living circumstances in Kazuo Ishiguro 's novels is a kind of literary phenomenon that can't be ignored in his novel creation. This literary phenomenon not only combines the form and content of the novel to form a unique style of Kazuo Ishiguro, but also has a strong practical significance, which contains the writer's attention to the universal moral and ideological predicament.
