The oral English self-concept refers to the self-perception and evaluation of English learners' own oral English and oral learning ability(Marsh,1985).The willingness to communicate in the classroom refers to the preconditions for being able to communicate smoothly in a foreign language, and being able to communicate smoothly with others is the ultimate goal of a second language or foreign language learner. The willingness to communicate was originally used to explain the individual differences in the communication of the mother tongue, and was later considered to be a very important factor in the second language communication. There is very little research on the relationship between English self-concept and willingness to communicate, especially for junior high school students. It is necessary to explore the relevance of oral self-concept and communication will, because it will provide a better way for English learning and teaching. Therefore, the focus of this study is on the relationship between oral English self-concept of junior high school students and their willingness to communicate in English classes and the factors that influence their relationship. This study takes the junior middle school E nglish learners of the four natural classes in the Hohhot Experimental Middle School as the research object, and explores the relationship between the self-concept of English oral English and the willingness of communication in the classroom. The main research questions are:1.What is the status quo of middle school students' oral self-concept and classroom willingness to communicate?2.What is the relationship between middle school students' oral self-concept and classroom willingness to communicate?3.What are the correlation between middle school students' oral self-concept and classroom willingness to communicate? In terms of gender and English academic achievement? This study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods with questionnaires and semi-structured interviews as survey tools. The collected data was entered into the statistical software SPSS for analysis. It was found that: 1.The self-concept of junior high school students is at a medium level, but most students have the confidence to improve their oral English level;the willingness to communicate in the English classroom is at the middle and lower level.Among the four communication methods of speaking, reading and writing, students prefer to communicate by listening.2.There is a positive correlation between the self-concept of oral English in junior high school students and the willingness to communicate in the classroom. The higher the oral English self-concept is,the higher the willingness to communicate in the classroom.Specifically, the self-concept of oral English is the most relevant and written. The correlation is the lowest.3.Among the factors affecting the correlation between the two, gender and achievement will affect the relationship between the two.The female oral self-concept and the willingness to communicate in the classroom are stronger. At the same time, the better the students' self-concept and the communication in the classroom Willingness is also stronger. In view of the above results, this study puts forward suggestions to English teachers: attaching importance to the cultivation of junior middle school students' oral ability and improving their oral self-concept are helpful for improving students' communicative intention in class, but the stereotype that gender has an impact on the level of oral English should be eliminated. In addition, teachers should pay attention to setting tasks of different difficulty levels in the oral English practice in class,so that students can have more objective evaluation of their oral English level, and guide students to establish more diversified self-evaluation standards. At the same time, there are some limitations in this study.
