Motivational regulation strategy is a series of methods and behaviors used by learners to maintain or improve learning motivation.Foreign language learning is a difficult process,in which there will be many factors that exert bad influence on learning.Learners' motivation is easily to be affected and changed, resulting in demotivation. This requires a certain way to adjust motivation to maintain learning motivation. In addition, numerous researchers pay attention to learner autonomy in recent years.Learner autonomy is the ability of learners to be responsible for their own learning. In the English Curriculum Standard for High School(2017),the self-regulated learning style of students is advocated, which requires that students have the consciousness and ability to actively apply and adjust their English learning strategies.By consulting the relevant literature, the researcher found that many scholars at home and abroad carried out theoretical and practical studies on motivational regulation strategies and learner autonomy and achieved fruitful results. However, there were few researches on the relationship between motivational regulation strategies and learner autonomy of high school students in English learning, which needs to be further supplemented and improved. Therefore, this study mainly explores the relationship betweenmotivational regulation strategies and learner autonomy of high school students in English learning. The purpose of this study is to explore how to increase the use of motivational regulation strategies in order to improve students' learner autonomy.Based on self-regulated learning theory and motivational psychology, this study attempts to answer the following three questions: 1.What is the current situation of motivational regulation strategies used by high school students? 2.What is the overall situation of high school students' learner autonomy? Are there any significant differences in learner autonomy between high frequency and low frequency level of using motivational regulation strategies? 3.What's the relationship between high school students' motivational regulation strategies and learner autonomy? In this study,200 senior high school students from Affiliated Middle School to Inner Mongolia Normal University were selected as research subjects.Motivational regulation strategy questionnaire and learner autonomy questionnaire were adopted to collect data. And the collected data were analyzed by means of SPSS 22.0 statistical software.Finally,12 high school students were interviewed in the way of semi-structured interview. The results show that: 1.The overall use of motivational regulation strategies of high school students is at a medium level(M=3.48).The use of the eight dimensions of motivational regulation strategies was at the medium and higher level.2.The English learner autonomy of high schoolautonomy are in the medium and higher level. There is significant difference in learner autonomy between high frequency and low frequency level of using motivational regulation strategies. The higher the frequency of using motivational regulation strategies, the stronger the students' English learner autonomy is.3.There is a relatively significant correlation between the use of motivational regulation strategies and learner autonomy(R=0.569).The correlation between self-efficacy enhancement strategy and learner autonomy is the highest, and the correlation between self-reward strategy and learner autonomy is the lowest. Finally, according to the research results, the researcher put forward some suggestions for promoting motivation and cultivating learner autonomy of high school students, and discussed the limitations of this study and the thinking of future researches.
