As an important part of higher education,higher vocational education plays an indelible role in cultivating modern interdisciplinary talents.With the acceleration of the integration of English with internationalization,English teaching in higher vocational colleges has become the focus of higher vocational education.The levels of English proficiency have been used to measure the important embodiment of a high-quality person while improving the level of English largely depends on teaching.At present,English teaching is faced with some outstanding problems,such as the general poor English foundation of students,the low enthusiasm of students in learning English,the insufficient attention paid to English teaching and the lack of research and discussion on occupational English education.In order to further implement relevant measures of education reform,improve English teaching quality and solve many defects and deficiencies in English teaching in higher vocational colleges,new English teaching mode is urgently needed to be explored,and thus English hierarchical teaching mode emerges as the times require.Q vocational university is a public full-time higher vocational college established in 1985 with the approval of the ministry of education.It is also the only vocational college named“university” in Jiangxi province.Taking Q vocational university for example,on the basis of defining the concept of stratified teaching and elaborating the theory of stratified teaching,this paper studies the stratified teaching of higher vocational English by using the research methods such as questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation.The main body of the paper is divided into six parts.The first part elaborates the research background,research purpose,significance,research methods,etc.The second part summarizes the domestic and foreign research literature and introduces the research status in this field at home and abroad.The third part is to issue has designed questionnaire,through the way of questionnaire and individual interview to investigate the research object of students,teachers,collecting data from three aspects,to collect valid data to analyze and summarize the problems caused from the overall understanding situation of the current higher vocational colleges English teaching,existing problems and their reasons.The fourth part is the test and implementation of the strategies.Thefifth part is that the author put forward some suggestions on how to improve the performance of English hierarchical teaching in higher vocational colleges based on the current situation,existing problems and their reasons.In the sixth part,the research conclusions are summarized and the innovation points are extracted.At the same time,the future research is also prospected.The following conclusions have been drawn from the study of English hierarchical teaching in higher vocational colleges.The following conclusions can be drawn from the research.(i)stratified teaching has advantages that cannot be compared with traditional teaching methods,and it plays a great role in promoting the improvement of English teaching efficiency of students in different regions;(ii)the stratified teaching of English in vocational college has the following problems: the evaluation basis of students' stratification is relatively single,the stratification values form over substance,and the stratification is too mechanical and fixed;(iii)should be reasonable stratification and allow students to choose,adjust its level,according to student performance on a regular basis to strengthen the public English class attendance,the teacher in the teaching process in a timely manner to encourage students,improving teachers' quality and teaching ability,the integrated use of the latest teaching concept to improve teaching methods,improve the public English class teaching as a whole organization,hierarchical organization test or examine respectively,puts forward differentiation for different level students assessment standard,pay attention to students' performance at ordinary times and the digital for the evaluation and so on to improve the efficiency of the layering method in English teaching.
