| Chinese stories are being frequently presented in the form of exhibitions around the world.Whether it is the thematic exhibition which based on academic research,or exhibitions like Biennale and Triennial focusing on world cultural communication,and art fairs aimed at and directed by the market,the Chinese art exhibition has far-reaching cultural significance and research value.It is not only constitute an indispensable part of the art ecology of contemporary world,but presenting and disseminating Chinese artistic spirit in an contemporary language.However,The current situation is that the research results of Chinese exhibitions in domestic and foreign academics are still insufficient.Therefore,the first step of this article is selecting eight thematic exhibitions of Chinese art held by Western art institutions as the object of study.These different "Chinese Stories" described here would reveal a China’s image from the perspective of the Western world,and the status of its overseas dissemination of Chinese culture.These objects will be explained from the perspectives of the theme,the structure of the exhibition,the presentation of the space,and the feedback from the audience.On this basis,this article will turn its sights to China and conduct a lot of investigations and data collection of exhibitions that have been independently planned in China in recent years in an effort to outline the true picture of China’s current exhibition industry.Then explore the narrative way of Chinese Story.Looking forward to to provide useful reference for the promotion and dissemination of Chinese culture and art.Through the the analysis of Western exhibition’s objects and the status of Chinese exhibitions,this paper finds that the exhibition is an art presenting and viewing mode that is very popular in the world,therefore it has the characteristics of International Language.Explaining the "Chinese story" in the exhibition language is an excellent presentation platform and transmission route for Chinese culture.However,the exhibition of "Chinese stories" planned by the West is inevitably controversial and critical due to the cultural differences between China and the West.When the exhibition narrator of the Chinese story gradually changed from the West to the exhibition workers in China,the situation was not as good as people expected.Different from the mature Western exhibitions,the Chinese exhibition industry that has just started has many problems in curating subjects,exhibition systems,and financial support.The self-interpretation of the Chinese Story still faces difficulties.Depends on such situation,how can the Chinese story be written by the language of exhibition more effectively in the future?This article suggests,first of all,Chinese art workers and researchers should increase the emphasis on the cultural significance of art exhibitions ideologically.Using contemporary and universal exhibition languages to tell "Chinese stories"and convey the spirit of Chinese art.Secondly,the fact which should be faced is China’s exhibition industry are still confusing,we should find out where the crux lies.Thirdly,we should draw lessons from Western curatorial experiences according to China’s national condition.and further improve and implement the exhibition’s system and funding guarantees.Based on this,increasing the academic level of the exhibition and innovate the exhibition methods.Only in this way can the Chinese art exhibitions develop in an orderly manner.The way and means of the Chinese Story can be more diversified,and the Chinese culture and arts can be further promoted and disseminated. |
