On Chinese Films Of Tibetan Areas In The New Century

As an important force in Chinese minority film,film of Tibetan areas is a beautiful landscape in minority movies.The creation of domestic film of Tibetan areas began in 1953.During the "17-year movie" period,China produced more than a dozen films of Tibetan areas.However,due to the times,such works in the "17-year film" period have a strong political atmosphere.After the reform and opening up,films of Tibetan areas began a diversified exploration with new perspectives and new languages.In the new century,China's Tibetan area films have undergone gratifying new changes.The rising Tibetan directors and non-Tibetan directors tell "Tibetan stories" from different aspects,which together opens up a new situation for the creation of Chinese films of Tibetan areas.This paper introduces the concept of " films of Tibetan areas ",expounding the typical characteristics of the differences between the non-Tibetan directors and local directors of Tibetan areas in the new century,and exploring the different cultural positions behind them.The first chapter summarizes the general situation of non-Tibetan directors' Tibetan areas film creation since the new century,and discusses their spatial imagination of Tibetan landscape and its symbolic order between Tibetans and women,and further explains the reason for the formation of this feature.The second chapter focuses on the image characteristics of Tibetan area film taken by Tibetan directors and the display of the normal state of Tibetan areas intertwined with old and new civilizations.The third chapter interprets the differences between the director groups of different regions and cultural backgrounds in the new century from the perspective of cultural memory and identity.Through the discussion of the creative mode and cultural horizon of Chinese Tibetan area film since the new century,this paper summarizes the achievements and limitations of the current development of Tibetan area film in China,and has certain theoretical reference value for the further development of Tibetan area film and other minority films in China.
