Research Of The Meaning Of Root Consciousness In The Consciousness-only Of Zongjinglu

This paper aims to focus on the meaning of root consciousness in the Consciousness-only of Zongjinglu(《宗镜录》).In its view,the root consciousness is interpenetration of the true and the false.which is consistent with the Consciousness-only.So the author thinks that such an argument is not reasonable which hold that Zongjinglu(《宗镜录》)through The Awakening of Mahayana Faith(《大乘起信论》)changed and mixed together the meaning of root consciousness in the Consciousness-only.Based on this observation,the author respond some researchers’ representative viewpoints about the root consciousness in Zongjinglu(《宗镜录》)and try to make appropriate comments on it.The result of the study showed that the meaning of root consciousness in Zongjinglu(《宗镜录》)is same to the Consciousness-only which should be received rave reviews and also have referential significance to our studies of Buddhism.
