Teaching assessment is a very important procedure.In the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Scientific and efficient assessment is conducive to promote teaching.For a long time,summative has been used as the main assessment tool in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language,however,formative assessment has not been highly regarded.The summative assessment can only examine students' knowledge of language,it can't make a comprehensive assessment to the learning process of a student,nor the ability of using language.It also cannot show the change of the student's language level.Communicative is the most important ability,in Chinese spoken teaching.It does not mean that student can communicate in Chinese when they master the knowledge of Chinese language.Therefore,improving the assessment system is the inherent requirement of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Through the deep analysis of the Chinese class setting of Rose School,and the exploration of formative assessment's patterns and steps,the author build an operating framework that fit Chinese conversation class in Rose School.The paper,take seven students from senior class of Chinese in Rose School as the practice subjects.The practice process is divided into three stages.In the paper,the author Collects and analyzes the information about Chinese communicative competence,participation degree and learning emotion.The paper also expound the application of formative assessment in Chinese conversation class in Thailand and analyzes the role and value of formative assessment in the process of learning.The author prove that formative assessment has strong operability in Chinese conversation class through three stages of practice.Students' participation degree and oral communicative competence have improved.In the process of using formative assessment,we should also pay attention to some problems.Such as : the form of assessment can fit students' ability,guide students to view their development level of Chinese correctly,and insist to using formative assessment in the whole teaching process.
