With the rising of the upsurge of learning Chinese and the increasing frequency of communication between China and Burundi,the position of Chinese class in the whole education of Burundi has been improved day by day.On the one hand,the number of Chinese classes is increasing;on the other hand,a series of problems in the Chinese classroom are also increasingly exposed,causing a headache for some Chinese teacher volunteers who are engaged in Chinese teaching for the first time abroad.These include common phenomena such as "lateness","lack of concentration",as well as special phenomena related to Burundian local culture,such as "handshake" and "request for gifts".In order to truly show the problems of classroom management,the paper presents them in the form of 13 cases by means of classroom observation,case study and interview,which are divided into three aspects: teachers and management,students and management,and rules and management.The case shows that the problems of classroom management in Confucius Institute of the University of Burundi are teacher problem,student problem,teaching resource and teaching equipment and other issues.In order to deal with these problems effectively,the paper puts forward corresponding solutions from many aspects,including establishing classroom rules,clarifying rewards and punishment systems,setting up effective teaching activities,cultivating cross-cultural communicative competence and improving language competence.To help future Chinese teacher volunteers to Burundi,to provide directions for understanding Burundian students and taking good Chinese lessons.
