Contemporary Interpretations Of Sun Wenming’s Erhu Works And His Performance Skills

Sun Wenming(1928-1962)was a blind vagrant erhu player in the Jiangnan area,before he became an erhu teacher of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.In the history of the development of erhu in China,Sun Wenming has made an indelible contribution to the erhu’s performance techniques,music creation,sound timbre and exploration of the erhu system.However,the erhu community and even the entire Chinese music industry have paid little attention to Sun Wenming in a long historical period.The performance techniques and works left by Sun Wenming have not been fully passed down.In the fieldwork,the author collected information that different people explored in different ways and tried to inherit the tradition that Sun Wenming left behind.Sun Wenming belongs to the historical figures of the past.When he is constantly studying his life experiences and personal achievements,he hopes to spread and inherit his music,and also the process of extending his life.The study of Sun Wenming’s contemporary interpretation is based on the performance space of Sun Wenming’s works.Through the views and practices of different people on Sun civilization,this kind of traditional music that is born out of the folk and shows the path of art and specialization is explored.Contemporary living space and development.Therefore,this thesis focuses on the practice of traditional music inheritance and re-creation caused by "Sun Civilization",and explores how Sun Civilization and its erhu performances and works are recalled,commemorated and passed down by different people in different eras and contexts..Studying how the personal achievements of Sun Wenming have changed in "Preaching" and "Cultivating",the context will be discussed in "tradition in the contemporary" to look back at tradition.
