The Tibetan translation of "Water Margin" is a masterpiece translated by Tibetan translators in three years.It was first published and distributed by the Tibetan People's Publishing House.It has been unanimously recognized by readers and is considered as a milestone in the history of contemporary Chinese-Tibetan literary translation.The research object of this thesis is the translation of poetry in the Tibetan translation of the 'Water Margin'.The novel consists of a preface,five chapters and a conclusion.The preface shorty describes 'the Water Margin' and briefly discusses the characteristics of Tibetan translation.The main content of the first chapter can roughly be divided into three sections,which are the origins and concepts of Han and Tibetan poetry,as well as their characteristics.The translator's identification and introduction of the "Notes from Heping Li" and its influence in the background of the special era at that time.Statistics on the number and proportion of poetry in Tibetan translations and the distribution of poetry in various chapters.The main content of the second chapter consists in analyzing the method of poetry translation itself.That is,'The Statement is two volumes' and the translation methods advocated in contemporary translation theory,combining the translation characteristics of the translation,Furthermore,it discusses the uniqueness of this translation method.The third chapter mainly describes the perspective of poetry translation as an art.That is,using the translation technique in the same way as the poetry in "Poetry Mirror" presents the classification and summary of artistic characteristics(rich in the characteristics of native poetry creation).The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis of character description and environmental description of poetry.Shaping characters are divided into depicting portraits,describing characters 'movements,and portraying characters' hearts;rendering the environment is divided into description of the natural environment and description of the human environment and briefly analyzed and commented.The fifth chapter is a comparison of some poems of Tibetan translation with poems in classical Tibetan literature,thus analyzing the similarities and differences between them.The conclusion summarizes several important points that need attention in the translation of poetry,and emphasizes that the overall level of poetry translation in Tibetan translations is extremely high.It can be regarded as a copy of modern Chinese-Tibetan literary translation,and its achievements can not be ignored.
