Paula Modersohn-Becker's of the 20 th century's most influential German expressionist painter,one of the women in her short life devoted to the exploration and research of the art of painting,for future generations left a wonderful and vivid works of art,her attitude towards art hold open and inclusive,constantly breakthrough self,eventually formed the creation style has the qualities of the original meaning and warmth.Based on the evolution of becker's artistic style,this paper mainly studies the painter's portrait works.His works use exaggerated colors,generalizations,composed,thick,rough and overall modeling,strong sense of the original.These works not only have rich spiritual content,but also have the true feelings of the painter.She generally USES the composition of the figure in the center of the picture,the background is simple,the space is shallow.In addition,becker was also influenced by the post-impressionist painters and gradually developed a unique style of painting.The tender qualities in her paintings are mainly achieved by paying attention to women,children,mother and child.The painter also embellishes the painting with flowers and other plants to make it lively and full of flavor.This is the author's favorite.Therefore,in this paper,the author will explore and study the original meaning and warmth of the painter's portrait,analyze the form and content of the work,and discuss the value and significance of the work from the living environment of the artist.
