Parental Rearing Patterns And Self-love: A Chain Mediating Role Of Empathy And Forgiveness

College students' self-love is an important intermediary for prosocial behavior and altruistic behavior,as well as the basis for the formation of their moral values and the driving force for social connections.In the specific social and cultural background of our country,factors such as parenting style,empathy and forgiveness are bound to have an important impact on the self-love of college students.Exploring the relationship between these factors can not only deepen the understanding of the psychological development of college students,but also have important practical significance for effectively guiding the growth of college students.Objective:Based on the research results of relevant scholars in the past,we can understand the current situation of college students' self-love and demographic differences,explore the relationship between college students' empathy,parenting style,forgiveness and self-love,and then propose strategies to improve college students' self-love.Methods:Literature research method,investigation research method and statistical research method.Based on domestic and foreign literature,this study used students from three universities in Changsha as the research object,using parenting style questionnaire,empathy questionnaire,self-love scale and forgiveness scale.A questionnaire survey was conducted on 820 freshmen to seniors from three colleges and universities in Changsha using parental parenting questionnaire,empathy questionnaire,self-love scale and forgiveness scale.The statistical data of the questionnaire data was statistically analyzed using the social science statistical software SPSS(Statistical Product and Service Solutions)for Windows 19.0.Results:(1)The self-love level of college students is higher than the average level,and the level of self-love is good.The highest score for each dimension of college students' self-love questionnaire is self-maintenance,and the lowest is self-acceptance.(2)Relevant analysis shows that refusal is negatively related to self-love,empathy and forgiveness;emotional warmth is positively related to self-love,empathy and forgiveness;excessive protection is negatively related to self-love,empathy and forgiveness.(3)Parental rearing style can affect college students' self-love level.Empathy and forgiveness play an intermediary role in parental refusal and self-love;empathy and forgiveness play an intermediary role in emotional warmth and self-love;empathy and forgiveness in overprotection and self-love Acting as an intermediary.Conclusion:Empathy and forgiveness play a chain intermediary role in the relationship between parenting and self-love.
