Villa Cather is the first writer in the history of American literature to describe the female story of the pioneering era in the West.Her stage of creation is the transition period from the traditional society to the modern industrial society.At that time,the traditional thinking of social patriarchal rule dominated humanity.Unrestricted plundering,transformation,and dominance of nature make the state of nature gradually split.Villa Cather tried to break the central idea of this binary opposition and realize the harmonious symbiosis between man and nature.In her works,she has created a series of pioneering female images.They are hardworking,determined,brave,and have the motherly feelings and strengths of the land,and they can all coexist with the land and nature.Chi Zijian,a writer from northeast China,is a unique presence in the literature of the new period.She has maintained a uniform rhythm of writing for more than twenty years and does not belong to any literary genre or literary group,She is another speaker on the black land after Xiao Hong.The unique regional culture of the Northeast,the mysterious shaman religion and the influence of myths and legends have made her awe of nature.She cared for the landscape,vegetation,folk customs and folk customs of her hometown with her childlike feelings,and persistently wrote the warmest side of human nature.Villa Cather's My Antonia and Chi Zijian's The Right Bank of the Ergun River turned their attention to the wild and mountain forests,mountains and rivers,birds and beasts and birds as writing object,draw the outline of a picture for us by the man and nature harmonious coexistence,equality between men and women,human world warm harmonious ecological landscape,has the sense of ecological holism and ecological feminist consciousness.Therefore,this thesis takes Villa Cather and Chi Zijian's ecological thoughts as the research object,and explores the similarities and differences between the two in their attitude towards nature,the relationship between men and women,and the ecological ethics.This paper is divided into five parts: The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the works of Villa Cather and Chi Zijian.Through literature review,we know the similarities between the two works —— reviewing the relationship between men and women from the perspective of women,and pursuing the equalityand harmony between man and nature from a perspective beyond women;The second part explains the relationship between human and nature from the Angle of natural ecology;The third part explores the relationship between people,men and women on the basis of the second part;The fourth part writes the human crisis and the loss of human spiritual home exposed in the process of industrial civilization;The fifth part,from the perspective of personal experience and social background,analyzes the reasons for the differences between the two authors' views on ecological women,so as to discuss the author's pursuit of "the defense of spiritual beauty in the process of material civilization" and spiritual home.The ecological thoughts contained in the works of Willa Cather and Chi Zijian have strong current values and distinct epochal characteristics,which are of great significance to the construction of ecological civilization,the construction of harmonious society and the improvement of humanistic spirit in China.
