Analysis And Exploration Of Dance Data In Shun Pao During The Period Of The Republic Of China

A millennium change of the society took apart in Modern China back a hundred year ago.During the era,variety of the Enlightenment thoughts burst out and the national culture received a dramatic alteration due to the military,economic and cultural invasion of the western countries.As the art of the culture,dance could help people find out the characteristics of that historical modern time.Western dance,traditional dance and the newly-developing dance are the three representative dance type in Modern China.For the time being when the feudatorial dance ended and the modern dance started,the Chinese dance was also experiencing the unescapable complex evolution.Dance was chosen by the time as a civilization tool to liberate the Chinese physically and mentally.As part of the contribution,it developed people's consideration in the right of female and art education in schools.Shun Pao,known in English as Shanghai News,was the most famous and impactive media in Modern China.It had become a conduit between the high and low society and allowed all the classes to speak out their opinions and criticism anonymously or in person.The change of the dance was also recorded by Shun Pao,which nowadays has been the evidence for the researchers to study the evolution and development of the modern dance.The report of the dance in Shun Pao was elaborate.Referring the dance record in Shun Pao from 1912 to 1949,this paper searched and collected the information of the dance in Modern China.To understand the significance and value of the modern dance in the era,the materials was then rearranged and analyzed in the historical and cultural aspect,where the relationship among the dance,people,politics and society was studied.
