At present,some of Chinese junior high schools mainly adopt traditional methods in English writing teaching.Traditional methods usually lead to students' negative attitudes towards English writing.The author who hopes to solve this problem adopts a method called self-correction.This method is based on the support of Contrastive analysis,Error analysis and Interlanguage theories,and then enables students to fully understand the scoring rules of the high school entrance examination.The study aims to explore the application of self-correction in junior high school English writing teaching.Therefore,the author hopes to greatly improve the situation at present and junior high school students' English writing ability.The following two research issues are addressed:Question1: What is the students' attitude towards self-correction and teacher-correction?Question2:Which kind of correction can improve students' writing proficiency more significantly,self-correction or teacher-correction?This study was carried out in Jincheng Middle School,Weifang City,Shandong Province,from September 2018 to December 2018.One hundred students from two parallel classes in the second grade of junior high school were selected as the subjects of study.Among them,Class 7 which used teacher-correction was designed as a control class.Meanwhile,Class 8 which used self-correction was designed as an experimental class.The main research tools are questionnaires,interviews,tests.The result shows that there are significant differences between teachers' and students' self-corrections in English writing in junior high school.Among them,self-correction is more suitable for correcting students' composition errors.Then after a lot of self-correction training,students' attitudes and writing proficiency have been significantly improved.It can be seen that self-correction of junior high school students is conducive to improving their English writing proficiency.On the contrary,in terms of these aspects,there is no significant change in the control class.Finally,this study puts forward some teaching inspirations and suggestions for practical teaching and further research.
