Role-Shaping And Paraphrase Analysis Of "Fang Zhimin" In Opera "Fang Zhimin"

In the history of Chinese national opera,the operas with red heroism as the theme have always stood like a giant on the land of China with distinctive nationality and characteristics of the times,becoming an opera with unique Chinese characteristics in the long history of the world opera.In 2015,the National Centre for the Performing Arts launched the original national opera “Fang Zhimin”.Opening the history of the years with shocking movements,praising the lofty belief of the revolutionary heroes,recalling the spirit of the times that used to lead the new trend,this opera has created the glory image of a revolutionary with ideal and belief,personality charm,the sentiments of a literati and the temperament of a poet.Different from pervious operas in the way of performance and innovative ideas,this opera creatively integrates the stage design of “flashback” and the literary works of the protagonist Fang Zhimin into the creation of opera,making it a unique opera with literary beauty,dramatic beauty and musical beauty.It is true that the image of the characters in the opera plays a pivotal role in the presentation of the stage.In the opera “Fang Zhimin”,the entire drama revolves around the experience of Fang Zhimin's arrest.Fang Zhimin's character image is gradually promoted in drama and music.Therefore,this article takes Fang Zhimin,the actor in the opera “Fang Zhimin”as the research object,and analyzes Fang Zhimin's role modeling and singing passages,striving to comprehensively and carefully display Fang Zhimin's artistic image.This paper consists of the following six parts:Part One: The paper briefly describes the research background and significance,analyzes the status of domestic and foreign researches on opera theories,the formation of opera characters,and the opera “Fang Zhimin”,and puts forward the research ideas and methods,laying a theoretical foundation for the follow-up study.Part Two: The paper introduces general information about the opera “Fang Zhimin”mainly in the following aspects: the development of the national opera,the creation background of the opera script,the plot of the opera,analysis of the main characters and the artistic achievements made by the opera.In this part,the motivation and background for the production team to create this opera are explored.Besides,the characters,plot and artistic achievements of the opera “Fang Zhimin” are clearly presented.The paper explores the three characteristics of the national opera “Fang Zhimin” in the performance of music creation,i.e.the dramatic tension highlighted,the folk drama material learned and the multiple musicthemes interspersed.Through analyzing the music scores of the opera,the paper probes into the important influences of the combination of Chinese and Western elements in creation as well as the way of expression that reflects national connotations and emotions on the development of Chinese national operas.Part Three: First of all,the drama image of Fang Zhimin is analyzed in detail and its artistic value is summarized from the perspectives of “drama” and “music”,two elements that make up an opera.Secondly,the paper introduces the three-dimensional musical image of Fang Zhimin,and deeply analyzes the theme language and singing form that symbolize Fang Zhimin's musical image.In the end,it expounds the aesthetic value of Fang Zhimin's artistic image.Part Four: By interpreting the emotions and singing skills of classic arias such as “This Is a Cell”,“China,My Beautiful Mother”,“Where Are You” and “If I Can Survive”,the paper analyzes Fang Zhimin's image as a great revolutionary.Part Five: The paper discusses the contribution and enlightenment of the opera “Fang Zhimin” to the development of Chinese opera.The opera not only adds modern elements to the red heroism theme,but also makes innovative attempts to make the drama mode and opera chorus more “dramatic”.It is these changes that reflect that this opera emphasizes music aesthetics and bring the audience's aesthetics into consideration during creation.In terms of role shaping,it is necessary to get rid of the extreme portrayal of heroes and negative characters,highlight the shaping of the meaning of other characters,and emphasize the combination of expressing emotions and presenting the plot.When it comes to stage art,it is important to combine multimedia and real scenes,and build a modern stage to convey emotions in realistic scenes.As for vocal singing,emphasis should be laid on cultivating the performers' high-level stage performance skills to visualize their voices,reflect specific personal characters in singing,so as to sing wonderfully with a silver voice and deep feelings.Based on the characters of Fang Zhimin,the author hopes to provide reference value for more vocal singers to fully understand the opera Fang Zhimin's opera image.
