Those who know Nadine Gordimer have named her “political warrior”,because she has been on the verge of exploring the political transformation of the South Africa during her writing career for more than half a century.Although Gordimer's works are undoubtedly full of distinct political colors, her purpose is not to illustrate politics through these works, but convey the traces of twisted politics in people's bodies in a social environment full of oppression and murder, and the most direct manifestation of these trace is the human body.Since Nietzsche made “body” to the position of the philosophical protagonist of the 20 th century, the word “body” has opened up an epoch-making meaning, and it has become an indispensable constituent for all literary activities.Based on the aforementioned social background, this thesis takes “body” as the research perspective.Based on the body theory of the previous scholars, and further interpreted the following four texts, such as: Burger's Daughter,My Son's Story,None to Accompany Me,Get a Life.On the basis of previous studies, the author tries to give a more realistic and thoroughly understanding of Gordimer's realistic presentation and creative thinking, which is a powerful argument for the topic of this thesis. In addition to a brief introduction to Gordimer, the introduction part of this thesis mainly analyzes the research status of Gordimer's works at home and abroad,Moreover,it puts forward the research significance of this thesis. In addition, the introduction also briefly clarifies three major issues concerning the body: the concept of the body, the theoretical history of the body, the body and literature. The main body of this thesis is divided into three parts, which are analyzed from the following three aspects:The first chapter is based on the individual level, which explains the body image construction and its metaphor, the writing of individual desires and the narrative of individual loneliness. In the construction of body image, combined with Gordimer's body narrative, this thesis analyzes body image in her works which is based on gender and pathological classification, and deeply explores the metaphor behind it.For the writing of body desire, the emphasis is on the release of the “sexual desire” of the self and the “distorted desire” squeezed by an abnormal environment. The narrative about body loneliness mainly analyzes the betrayed, abandoned image of male character as a “lonely bearer” and as an interpreter of loneliness, and the female interprets the extraordinary meaning of lonliness. The second chapter focuses on the political perspective and comprehensively applies various body theories to develop a more comprehensive study of Gordimer's “body writing” from three dimensions of power, race and gender. The “Power politics” section mainly starts from two aspects: “physical discipline” and “identity”.It explains the works of Gordimer by using the “discipline power” theory of Michel Foucault and the “mirror” theory of Jacques Lacan. The “machine's flesh” of social and political production in South Africa and the resistance to this “production of the flesh”.That is,the identity of the self-subject in the mirror image of the other. In the “Racial politics” section, the text is closely combined to illustrate the physical isolation and physical violence under the apartheid system in South Africa, thus revealing Gordimer's powerful flogging of the physical destruction under South Africa's “racial politics”.The “Gender Politics” section, combined with the feminist theory, explores the “gaze” aesthetics of men with collateral power under the patriarchal ideology, and the unique female body awakened by Gordimer in her works. This awakening is not only manifested in the subversion of the power of white women to men in ethnic society to men,but also in the resistance of black women to the double oppression of sex and race. The third chapter closely combines the text analysis of the previous article, and explores the meaning of Gordimer's body writing from the three aspects: politics, individual and national future. Thus her public feelings is more thoroughly interpreted.Gordimer's concerns are, first of all,on the basis of writing creed of “the writer is loyal to the position of existence”,to write a mirror image of South Africa society by writing a body covered by politics.Secondly,it is responsible for the writer's mission of writing “inner history”,focusing on the writing of the resistance of the body expressed through the pursuit of freedom and self.Whether it is the writing of the history of existence or the exploration of the individual, which lies behind is her thinking about the future of the body and the body of the future. The conclusion part first analyzes the relationship between body and literature research, and secondly analyzes the intersection of individual and politics in Gordimer's body writing.Through Gordimer's individual and political body writing,Gordimer's desire for love and the future of South Africa are reflected. Finally,it is pointed out that Gordimer physically writes the irrational tendency of excessive politicization and considers the boundaries of body writing.
