Research On The Application Of Video Clips In The Teaching Of “Overview Of China”

“Overview of China” is a required course for International students to learn Chinese.It is a cultural course with a large amount of information and a wide range of coverage,including Chinese geography,history,religion,philosophy,economy,literature,medicine and other aspects.It is difficult to understand theoretical and abstract nature of cultural in this course.In order to solve this teaching problem,this paper analyses the feasibility of applying video clips in the teaching of this course on the basis of teaching situation and the existing problems.Through a one-year teaching practice,the application principles,positions and cases of video clips in the teaching of “Overview of China” were designed and practiced.Finally,combining the analysis of teachers' feedback and students' questionnaire,this paper verified the feasibility of applying video clips to the teaching of “Overview of China”,and put forward some suggestions to the teaching problem.In terms of cultural communication,the auxiliary teaching of video clips can help International students deepen their understanding of Chinese culture mentioned in Overview of China,which is more vivid than language explanation.It can help International students quickly break stereotypes,overcome cross-cultural communication barriers and refresh their understanding of China.In terms of teaching management,using video clips in different positions can not only focus students' attention,but also promote orderly class teaching.In addition,teachers should concentrate their efforts on teaching from maintaining class,so as to improve teaching efficiency and ensure the completion of teaching tasks.At the same time,this teaching mode can get rid of the limitation of class and make the learning time,frequency and place independent,which is an update of the traditional class teaching mode and also provides a beneficial attempt for the teaching of “Overview of China” in the future.
