The Effect Of Pictures And Words On Facial Expression Recognition Under Subliminal Emotional Priming

It is important for individuals to recognize the emotional information of facial expressions correctly.But the expression is not usually independent,it is usually accompanied by some emotional color of the situation.Facial expression recognition is usually a subconscious state in which people automatically generate definitions of facial expressions and then respond accordingly.The study of subliminal emotion priming helps people to understand the effect of unconscious emotion on cognition and thus to better understand their cognition and the relationship between behavior and emotion.In the past studies on subthreshold emotional activation,due to the difference of specific priming materials and experimental tasks,the experimental results are still There are differences.On the basis of the current research,this study adopts the paradigm of subthreshold priming and uses the emotional consistency effect as the evaluation index to verify the emotional consistency bias of facial expressions under the subthreshold emotional priming.Furthermore,this paper probes into the specific problems in the paradigm of emotion initiation research in order to better understand the unconscious emotion and how it affects the judgment of our facial expression recognition.In this study,Event-related potential(ERP)technique was used to investigate the types of emotional vocabulary and emotional picture priming materials under subthreshold emotional priming and the brain processing mechanism of facial expression recognition at three levels of emotional titer:anger,calm and pleasure.The subjects were asked to complete the facial expression recognition task as quickly and accurately as possible.The correct rate and the corresponding ERP components were analyzed when the subjects completed the task.The main results are as follows:(1)The results of behavior indicate that no matter whether the type of the starting material is a picture or a word,the reaction with the same emotion is faster than the non-consistent reaction,and the difference is obvious,and the effect of the emotion starting under the threshold is obvious.the activation effect of the starting material type and the emotion titer is remarkable,the starting effect of the vocabulary in the recognition of the face emotion under the threshold of the under-threshold emotion starting condition is better than the starting effect of the picture,and the reaction time under the negative start is shorter than the active starting effect;(2)The result of ERP results in the analysis of the waveform of N1,N170,EPN,N400 and LPP.The main effect of the early N1 and N170 components is that the main effect of the EPN in the middle is significant.The main effect of the material of N400 and LPP in the late stage is significant.In that N400 component,the amplitude of the picture group is more obvious,and only the picture group induce a significant late positive component LPP.In this way,the emotion recognition of the emotion in the threshold can be divided into two stages of the unconscious emotion initiation stage and the emotion perception understanding stage.
