The Intersubjectivity Of Stance Markers "Zhe/Na-"

Demonstrative pronouns are important cohesive devices in modern Chinese,especially in oral communication.In addition to referring basic functions,“zhe / na-” can also be used to express the speaker's subjective feelings,attitudes and positions,as the function of stancetaking.Based on the cognitive theory,discourse analysis and the stance triangle,this paper focus on the simple use and construction of "zhe / na" from interation items in spoken Chinese.We use discourse analysis to make a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the stancetaking markers "zhe / na",and further analyzes the appearance of "this / na" in the construction.Starting from the description of the alternation phenomenon of "zhe" and "na" in oral communication,this paper combine the interaction process with the social behavior involved in the conversation and examine the different stance-taking of "this / that" in the conversational sequences."this / na" has intersubjectivity in the strategy of selection,and is influenced by dynamic factors such as purpose of speech,social culture and so on."Na" is different with "zhe" in terms of positioning,alignment and so on.We believe that the choice of "zhe / na" is related to the subjectivity of speaker and the intersubjectivity of speakers,which is related to the cognitive psychological distance.We also study the form of "zhe / na+ NP".It is considered that "na+ NP" has the functions of exaggeration,praise and euphemism.The construction of "zhe" such as "zhe+da X de" " na(N)V de" "na+ A de" expresses speaker reproaches,emphasizes,comments,complains opinions or emotion.The high accessibility of "zhe" caters to the strong interactivity and timeliness of spoken language,is more prominet “that” in formalization.Demonstrative pronouns are asymmetrical in the function of position expression.The choice of "this/ that" reflects the subjectivity,intersubjectivity and social cultural background.By using the position triangle theory,this paper analyzes the motivation and dynamic influencing factors of the formation of the intersubjectivity process of "zhe / na".Through the absorption of the use context,the "this/ that" further develops the function of stancetaking on the basis of deixis.Stance markers has the function of constructing social distance in the language selection strategy of the speaker,constructing the emotional attitude.Through this research,we hope to provide further evidence for the study of intersubjectivity of demonstrative pronoun system.
