The English-Chinese translation practice report is based on the translation practice of Two Way Stretch, which is an Australian short fiction written by Australian writer Glen Phillips in 2014,telling a story on the journey with the background of Australia in 20th Century after the Second World War.The translator writes this translation practice report according to this translation practice. This report consists of four parts:translation task introduction, translation process description, case analysis and conclusion. The third part is the core part of this report,in which the translator summarizes the important and difficult points of translation, discusses and studies the translation strategies, techniques and methods of Australian short story translation through the analysis of typical translation examples. The translator has improved the ability of personal literary translation through the translation and study of the short fiction, summed up the characteristics of Australian short fictions and Western Australian English, put forward some suggestions on how to apply relevance-theoretic translation theory to guide the translation of multi-dialogue short stories, and summarized the common translation methods and strategies of short fiction translation.
