After the great geographical discovery in the 16th century and the opening of new air routes,the communication between east and west became convenient and frequent.Chinese porcelain,silk,furniture and a large number of other living utensils were constantly imported into Europe.The Chinese culture introduced during this period was highly respected and even set off a "Chinoiserie" that lasted for a hundred years.This interaction between Chinese and western cultures,which was the largest and unprecedented one,had a significant impact on the development of European society.This paper is based on the"Chinoiserie" phenomenon in Western Europe in the 16th and 18th centuries.Analysis of the "Chinoiserie" phenomenon during the formation,development and reasons of the fade,and to understand the meaning of this cultural exchanges on both sides of Chinese and western social development,especially the impact of Chinese culture to the Western Europe at that time society,intent on the current status and future development trend of communication between Chinese and western culture to make the right evaluation and prediction.First starts with the background of exchanges of Chinese and western,introduces the Chinese and western social environment respectively,and to explore the causes of"Chinoiserie" phenomenon to Western Europe,the second,points and two aspects of social life and political thought in western European countries the phenomenon of"Chinoiserie" introduces the p'erformance,discusses the material and spiritual civilization of China to Western Europe the impact of social production and living,finally from related party,the Chinese and western European society within,and combing the two sides during this period in the economic basis and superstructure changes in the development,to find the cause of the "Chinoiserie" phenomenon in Western Europe recede finally.
