School adjustment refers to the condition that students engage in the school activities pleasantly and obtain successes on academic,interpersonal and emotional adjustment.Positive school adjustment can help students to keep mental health and contribute to build health school.Negative school adjustment is related with problem behaviors,mobile phone addiction,internet addiction,suicidal ideation,etc.So,it’s very valuable to explore effective factors and mechanisms of school adjustment and advance the intervene measures to practice.Based on the analysis for former studies,Undergraduate Positive Life Event Scale,Savoring Beliefs Inventory-Revised,Undergraduate School Adjustment Questionnaire were surveyed to 487 undergraduates from three universities in Henan province in order to explore the current situation of undergraduate’s school adjustment,the relationship among positive life event(PLE),savoring and school adjustment,the mediating effect of savoring between PLE and school adjustment,effect of savoring-based intervention project on school adjustment.The results showed that:(1)The level of undergraduates’ school adjustment was good.The level of interpersonal adjustment was highest,the levels of major adjustment and academic adjustment were middle,the level of emotional adjustment was lowest.(2)For the overall level of school adjustment,there were no significant differences on gender,major,origin.Grade one students’ level of school adjustment was significantly lower than grade two and grade three.Student who is the only child had better school adjustment level than other students.(3)There was significant relationship between PLE and school adjustment.PLE could significantly predict the level of school adjustment.There was significant relationship between PLE and savoring.PLE could significantly predict the level of savoring.There was significant relationship between savoring and school adjustment.Savoring could significantly predict the level of school adjustment.(4)The partial mediating effect of savoring between PLE and school adjustment was significant.PLE could directly affect school adjustment and also indirectly affect school adjustment by savoring.(5)Savoring-based intervention project could promote the level of school adjustment and the effect could last long.The school adjustment’s posttest level,follow-up test level of intervention group were significantly higher than control group.There was no significant difference between posttest and follow-up test.Last,some advice were given as follows that some contents of school adjustment,some kinds of students and some promoting ways should be focused. |
