Interpersonal trust is the lubricant of social harmony and the key premise of cooperative behavior. When lacking enough information to judge whether the other party is trustworthy, individuals need to imagine and speculate from the perspective of the other party,so as to accurately predict the intention and behavior of the other party.Individuals with high perspective taking are more likely to perceive the interest dependence of trust situation from the other party,so they will choose to trust or distrust. To sum up the previous studies on perspective taking and interpersonal trust, most of them are operated as trust games with network virtual players, but in fact return automatically by computer programs. The first purpose of this study was to improve the ecological validity, investigating the interpersonal performance of paired individuals with different perspective taking ability under real interaction. However, interpersonal trust changes with the process of communication.Previous studies only discussed the relationship between perspective taking and interpersonal trust in a specific stage. The second purpose is to explore the trust expression of individuals with different perspective taking in the process of trust establishment, trust breakdown and trust repair with hyperscanning. In the first experiment,a multi-round trust game paradigm was used to create a real interpersonal interaction, and the influence of both sides'perspective taking on interpersonal trust was investigated.Eighty-eight college students were selected through the indicator task test, and 33 of them were of the high perspective taking type. The independent variables are their own perspective taking ability?high/low?and the perspective taking ability of the interactive object?high/low?,and the dependent variables are the investment rate, return rate and monetary profits. It was found that in terms of investment rate, there was a significant interaction between one's own perspective taking type and the other party's perspective taking type(F?1,84?=4.25,p=0.042,?p2=0.049).When the individual was a high perspective taking, there was a significant difference between high and low perspective taking of interactive ones.In terms of monetary profits, both the perspective taking type of one's own(F?1,84?=14.14,p<0.001,?p2=0.144)and the interactive party(F?1,84?=6.24,p=0.014<0.05,?p2=0.069)have a significant impact on the individual's own total monetary profits. And the high-high pair is greater than other pairs.Experiment 1supports that norm-based theories of trust and reciprocity is applicable in trust games.Experiment 2,based on functional near-infrared spectroscopy?fNIRS?,explored the influence of perspective taking on different stages of interpersonal trust?trust establishment, trust breakdown, trust repair?,and further demonstrated the close relationship between brain synchronization and interpersonal trust. The subjects of different paired types?19 pairs with high perspective taking and 19 pairs with low perspective taking?played multiple rounds of trust game, and the three stages of interpersonal trust were experienced by the subjects with the help of computer reversion. The results show that:1.Behaviorally,there is no significant difference in the investment rate of the high/low perspective taking in the three different stages of interpersonal trust(F?2.48,137.83?=2.81,p=0.072,?p2=0.034);2.Emotionally,the liking of the high perspective takers for the interactive players was lower than that of the low ones?M?=3.93,M?=4.67,p=0.027?in the trust repair stage.1.During the whole process of trust game, significant brain synchronization occurred in the right TPJ in the group with high perspective taking, but not in the group with low perspective taking. In combination with experiment 1 and experiment 2,this study found that the perspective taking of the interacting parties would influence interpersonal trust. The level of interpersonal trust was the highest when both partners were of the high perspective taking type. The norm-based theories of trust and reciprocity can better explain this result.Compared with the stages of trust establishment and trust breakdown, the liking of the high perspective takers to the interactive players in the trust repair stage was significantly lower than that of the low ones.During the process of interpersonal trust establishment, breakdown and repair, there was significant brain synchronization in the right TPJ in the group with perspective taking, but not in the group with low perspective taking. It shows that perspective taking plays an important role in the dynamic process of interpersonal trust. To sum up,this study uses the combination of hyperscanning technology and behavior to differentiate the behavior performance and neural activity of individuals with different perspective taking in the three stages?trust establishment, breakdown and repair?of interpersonal trust, which greatly improved the ecological validity. With the help of hyperscanning, this study can describe the dynamic process of inter-brain synchronization in different stages of interpersonal trust of different perspective taking pairing, and clear how perspective taking.affects behavioral performance and underlying cognitive neural processes of interpersonal trust.
