Picture books play an important role iin chilcdren's daily life,considered as an important way for children to obtain information.With the rapid development of mobile terminals such as smartphones and iPad,electronic picture books emerged with the help of digital interactive technology and multimedia presentation.The picture book design and application have attracted the researchers recently.Picture elements are an important part of electronic picture books.How to optimize the presentation of drawing elements in picture books and maximize their advantages is one of the focuses of this study.Popular science picture book combines scientific knowledge with pictures and has vivid expressive At the same time,research on children's reading comprehension ability and picture book content understanding found that children with better reading comprehension ability can more deeply feel the theme of the picture book story and the emotions of the characters.In this study,used eye tracking technology to explore the picture books reading process of 36 children aged 4 to 5.The experiment was carried out by using two factors(picture elements present:dynamic related element,dynamic independent element,static)and(group:high language comprehension ability group,low language comprehension ability group)which is a within subjects design research.The experimental results revealed that:(l)The test were significantly higher in the dynamic and static presentation.(2)The total fixation time,total fixation frequency and total visits of children to the relevant elements were significantly higher than those of dynamic independent elements.(3)The gaze pattern was correlated with the achievement of science popularization knowledge.The results show that:The dynamic presentation of irrelevant elements has a greater impact on children's popular science knowledge learning with high reading comprehension ability.And also provides experimental basis for the selection of dynamic presentation of picture elements in electronic picture books.
