Under the influence of the Internet and phones, information takes the form of a big explosion.People are surrounded by information and enter the information age.As a special group in the society, college students have strong curiosity and thirst about new things and the external environment when they are growing up.They have certain ability to obtain information,so they are easily influenced by various kinds of information. In this context, critical thinking becomes more and more important. The history of psychology course is one of the compulsory courses for students majoring in psychology. As a historical knowledge subject,it needs to train students' historical thinking in the learning process, and to some extent,it needs to cultivate their critical thinking. This study used a method of research-based learning in the course to conduct a three-month critical thinking training comparison experiment with 48 students.During the research, the researchers conducted research-based learning on the experimental group, attached importance to students' learning autonomy, and used group discussion and cooperative learning to teach. The control group still uses the traditional teaching model. In the experiment, the pre-test and post-test were performed on the students in the experimental group and the control group, and then the data obtained by the measurement were analyzed by SPSS 17.0.Through the data analysis of the experimental group and the control group before and after the test, the following three research hypotheses are proposed:(1)Using research-based learning in the history of psychology can cultivate students'critical thinking;(2)Cultivating critical thinking in the class can promote the learning of the history of psychology;(3)Teachers can effectively cultivate students' critical thinking by using research-based learning in the history of psychology.Research results:(1)The use of research-based learning in the course can cultivate students' critical thinking to a certain extent, and the effect is more prominent in the critical thinking tendency;(2)Cultivating critical thinking in the classroom does not affect the study of the history of psychology, and can help students better grasp the knowledge of the history of psychology;(3)Studies have shown that teachers can effectively cultivate students' critical thinking by means of mind mapping, design debates, and group cooperation.
