A Study On The Application Of Monk Poetry Metaphor In Tang Dynasty

Tang poetry is a great peak in the history of Chinese poetry.As an integral part of it,Tang monk poetry gradually appeared in the public view with the discovery of Dunhuang relics.This article takes Tang Dynasty monk poetry as the research object,uses the rhetoric analysis method,the quantitative statistics method and the case analysis method and so on,describes and explains the characteristic,the rule and the motive of the metaphor application in the whole.The text is divided into seven parts:In the introduction part,the author introduces the background of the thesis,the present situation of the research,the content,method and significance of the research,the source of the corpus,and defines the concepts of "poem monk" and "monk poem".The first chapter discusses the type and application of monk poems in Tang Dynasty,mainly describing the metaphors of monk poems in Tang Dynasty from the structural form.First of all,the metaphor type of Tang Dynasty monk poetry can be divided into three basic types of metaphor,metonymy,metaphor,counter-metaphor,And four kinds of derivative forms,I.E.comparative metaphor,inverted metaphor,negative metaphor and suspicion.With regard to the way of metaphor,this paper studies the distribution of metaphor in monk poems of Tang Dynasty and the comprehensive application of metaphor and other figures of speech.The second chapter investigates the choice of figurative objects in monk poems of the Tang Dynasty.Through statistics,it is found that the main metaphorical objects can be divided into five categories: human body parts,natural things,social things,virtual things and concrete events.Each large category can be divided into a number of sub-categories.The third chapter analyzes the rhetorical function of the metaphor of the poems in the Tang Dynasty.The metaphorical rhetoric in the poems of the Tang Dynasty is abstracted into figurative,esoteric,shallow,vivid and satirical.The fourth chapter selects the Tang Dynasty monk poetry representative poet poetry,carries on the case analysis,has mainly investigated the Wang Fanzhi,Jiao ran,Han Shan,Guan Xiu and so on person poetry metaphorical characteristic.In the fifth chapter,the author tries to find out the reasons for the use of the metaphor of monk poems in Tang Dynasty,and probes into the internal and external causes of the use of metaphors in Tang Dynasty monk poems from both social and personal aspects.The social aspect has the need of Buddhism dissemination,the Buddhism secularization and the integration and development of Confucianism,The reflection of the change of Social trend of thought,such as professional status,personal experience and accomplishment.Finally,in the conclusion part,the research of this subject is summarized,and the prospect is made.
