Sociolinguistic Research On Geographical Names Of Wuhai City

The definition of place names is controversial,and the core of the dispute lies in two points:one is "ground",which refers to the object of place names,and the other is "name",which refers to the expression of the object of reference.From the administrative division,administrative division map and the results of the two census of geographical names,we have extracted the existing administrative division,natural geographical entities,transportation and water conservancy facilities,and scenic spots and historic sites in Wuhai City.There are many classification standards for geographical names.We adopt the naming method to classify the geographical names of Wuhai City into descriptive geographical names,descriptive geographical names and inclusive geographical names.Wuhai city place names include Chinese place names,ethnic language place names and multilingual mixed place names.We study the word structure of Wuhai city's place names from the two aspects of place name structure and naming motivation,among which the place name structure studies the internal composition of Wuhai city's place names and the naming motivation studies the origin of Wuhai city's place names.From the perspective of the structure of place names,no single-word place names have been found in the Chinese place names of Wuhai city,and there are seven single-word place names in the national language,namely Mailer,Mailer,Dute,Kabuki,Bayin,Usu and Iqe.In the place names of Wuhai city,partial formality is the main way of morpheme synthesis.From the perspective of naming names,Wuhai city names have primary and non-primary names,and the number of non-primary names is more than that of primary names.There are four kinds of non-native place names: derivation,conversion,transformation and transposition.The transfer of place names in Wuhai City has obvious characteristics.Mongolia is a nomadic minority in the north.Wuhai city has the same place names as the surrounding areas,which may be related to the migration of Mongolian population.The geographical names of Wuhai City reflect the regional characteristics.We can read the following information from the place names: 1.Haibowan District is the political,economic and cultural center of Wuhai City.The disappearance of Gacha indicates the urbanization of Wuhai City.2.Haibowan District develops faster than Wuda District and Hainan District.3.Wuhai City is accelerating the transformation of its economic development mode and gradually getting rid of the economic development mode relying on resources.Judging from the names of many ditches,Wuhai City has rich and developed water systems in its history.From the place names,we canalso observe the mineral resources,animal resources and plant resources in Wuhai City.The place names of Wuhai city reflect language features.Wuhai city's urban place names and rural place names have different characteristics.Wuhai city town names are divided into entity names and non-entity names.Wuhai city town names are mostly in Chinese,with high density and multiple levels,reflecting strong humanistic color and precise and detailed words.The rural place names in Wuhai City have many ethnic languages and their naming methods are natural and primitive.Wuhai's ethnic language place names are another feature of Wuhai's place names.The place names in Wuhai's ethnic languages come from various sources,mainly Mongolian and Tibetan.Wuhai City,as a bilingual area,has a unified place name and has two writing styles of Mongolian and Chinese.The connotation of Wuhai city place names includes natural cultural connotation and national cultural connotation.There are many place names beginning with "Zhagan" in Wuhai city.Chagan is closely related to food,festivals,peace,nobility and totem.The three nicknames of Wuhai City "Desert Oasis","Grape Town" and "Pearl of the Yellow River" also contain natural connotations.The place name of Wuhai city contains national cultural connotation including sacrificial culture,religious culture and heroic epic.the place name "heilonggui" may be related to the Mongolian struggle against reclamation.
