Wu Opera contains six loud tunes: Gaoqiang,Tanhuang,Shitong,Hui Opera,Ran Tan and Kun Opera.As a comprehensive stage performing art,Wu Opera has a long and profound traditional cultural background since its birth in the Ming Dynasty,including regional culture,instrumental culture,vocal culture,class culture and many other aspects.It is widely loved by the people for its unique charm.As a witness of the development of Wu Opera,the main musical instrument plays an important role in the orchestra and is an important part of the aria,which determines the success or failure of the aria.Therefore,the study of the main musical instrument is of great significance.The rich vocal tunes of Wu Opera lead to the diversity of the main musical instruments.This paper uses the methods of musical morphology and ethnomusicology to select the most representative flute,Banhu and Huihu as examples to make a thematic and systematic study on the main musical instruments of Wu Opera.The main body of this paper is divided into six chapters,introduction and conclusion.From the aspects of history,form,playing technique and singing partner form,the technical characteristics,musical form and artistic characteristics of Wu Opera’s main musical instruments are preliminarily sorted out and studied.In the first chapter,from the perspective of historical development,the author traces back the development process of Wu Opera and the conditions for the production of the main musical instruments of Wu Opera,and explores the evolution process of the mainmusical instruments from the class club to the troupe(Sanhe Class,Jinhua Opera,Wu Opera),and combs out the gradual evolution process of the main musical instruments with the development of Wu Opera and the representative pianists of the main musical instruments.In the second chapter,the organization of orchestral instruments is sorted out and discussed.It includes four parts: Traditional Orchestra compilation,modern orchestra compilation,the function of Wenwuchang instruments and the types of Wenwuchang instruments.In the third chapter,taking flute,Banhu and Huihu as the main musical instruments in Wu Opera and Hui Opera as examples,starting from the basic elements of tuning,fingering,range and timbre,the unique performance techniques of three musical instruments(flute,Banhu and huihu)in Wu Opera are refined,and the technical characteristics of the main musical instruments are summarized.Chapter IV starts with the music cards of the main musical instruments of Wu Opera,combs the gong and drum music cards,Suona music cards and silk and bamboo music cards.Secondly,it illustrates the forms,crossings,falls,structures and functions of the main musical instruments and singing tunes,and summarizes the characteristics of Wu Opera instrument music cards and five forms of singing companions.In the fifth chapter,from the point of view of the combination of singing partners,the author chooses "Wang Zhizhen’s eyes can’t stop crying" and "Spring and Autumn Match Send Friends" as examples.On the premise of the outline of the repertoire and the structure of the musical tune,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the techniques and forms of the main musical instruments in actual performance,and fully demonstrates the importance of the main musical instruments.Chapter 6 summarizes the artistic characteristics of the main musical instruments through the above analysis of the technical characteristics and musical forms of the main musical instruments in Wu Opera.In-depth exploration reveals that the main instrumentand the aria as Wu Opera sound form are integrated and inseparable.
