The Influence Of Frustration On Adolescent Domain-specific Risk-taking Behavior

Individual risk-taking behavior not only harms itself,but also harms the public,Harm is involved in all areas of human activity,Therefore,the domain-specific risk-taking behavior(mainly involving safety risk-taking behavior,morality risk-taking behavior,entertainment risk-taking behavior,social risk-taking behavior)has been concerned by the educational and psychological circles.Previous studies have constructed a complete theoretical model of risk-taking behavior from physiological,personal,group and social perspectives.However,the middle period of adolescents(15-17 years old)is a special period for adolescents.This period is a "unbalanced period"in which adolescents experience a series of rapid development and change.It is also a"sensitive period"in which adolescents are experiencing a series of social situation problems such as learning setbacks,interpersonal difficulties,adaptation and family separation and so on.So teenagers are more likely to be involved in risk-taking than children and adults.The problem behavior theory points out that the main factors influencing adolescents’ risk-taking behavior are environmental factors and individual factors.From the perspective of environmental factors,teenagers often feel frustration such as learning pressure,interpersonal communication,poverty and so on.From the perspective of individual factors,resilience is an important part of teenagers’psychological energy and the key factor to deal with adversity and frustration.In this special period of internal and external suffering,if not well-directed,adolescents will be forced to become a high-risk group of risk-taking behavior,which will have a significant impact on individuals and society.So far,few researchers have empirically studied the relationship and its mechanism among frustration(state frustration,frustration experience),resilience(the personal manpower,the supportive manpower)and adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior,Therefore,it is necessary to explore the relationship and mechanism among frustration,resilience and adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behaviors.The frustration of this study is composed of state frustration and frustration experience,Therefore,the first study is to explore the relationship among state frustration,resilience and adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior.The second study is to explore the relationship among frustration experience,resilience and adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior.In the first study,139 senior high school freshmen were selected as subjects.firstly,the state frustration was induced in the frustration situation,and then the adolescent resilience and the adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior were measured.The relationship state frustration,resilience and adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior is examined,on the basis of which,the mediating effect mechanism of resilience on adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior is further discussed.In the second study,287 senior high school freshmen were tested with questionnaires to investigate the effects of adolescent frustration experience and resilience on their domain-specific risk-taking behaviors.the adolescent frustration experience,the adolescent resilience and the adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior were measured.The relationship frustration experience,resilience and adolescent risk-taking behavior is examined,on the basis of which,the mediating effect mechanism of resilience on adolescent domain-specific risk-taking behavior is further discussed.The results are as follows:(1)The domain-specific risk-taking behavior of adolescents is not sensitive to the state frustration induced by frustration situation,so there is no mediating effect of resilience in the influence of state frustration on domain-specific risk-taking behavior.(2)In the field of safety and morality,resilience plays a partial mediating effect in the influence of frustration experience on risk-taking behavior,and the total mediating effect accounts for 21.47%and 32.84%of the total effect respectively.The total mediating mechanism consists of two paths,one is "frustration experience→ the personal manpower→risk-taking behavior",the other is "frustration experience→the supportive manpower→the personal manpower→risk-taking behavior"。On the path of "frustration experience→the personal manpower→risk-taking behavior",in the field of safety and morality,the mediating effect of personal manpower in resilience accounted for the total effect were 14.01%and 20.53%.In the path of "frustration experience → the supportive manpower →the personal manpower →risk-taking behavior",the mediating effect of "the supportive manpower→the personal manpower"mediating chain accounts for the total effect were 5.14%and 7.54%respectively.In the field of entertainment and society,there is no mediating effect of resilience in the impact of frustration experience on risk-taking behavior.According to the performance in different fields,it shows that the occurrence mechanism of risk-taking behavior has domain-specific.This study verifies the comprehensive impact of frustration and resilience on domain-specific risk-taking behavior of adolescence,this study tells us that learning to deal with frustration and improve the level of resilience of adolescents is an important way to avoid risk-taking behavior.
