Writing Of Wuzhou History From The Perspective Of Political Struggle

The official history-revising activities of successive dynasties have strong political significance,and the winner's history-revising has already become a permanent and fixed writing mode in the history of Chinese history.Due to the unprecedented strengthening of centralization in Tang Dynasty and the special attention paid by the rulers to historiography,official historiography in Tang Dynasty showed great political tendency.As an interruption of Tang Zuo's middle dynasty,Wuzhou's historical writing shows more obvious political traces.Since Wu Zetian was in power in order to complete the self-image construction of Li Wu's peaceful Zen Dynasty,Wu Zhou,who had the right to speak,would naturally beautify the self-regime to the utmost.Wu Zetian made full use of Buddhist classics,Confucianism theory and political manipulation of historical writing to complete the theoretical construction of the legitimacy of Wuzhou regime.The Shenlong coup declared the collapse of the Wuzhou regime,and the writing of Wuzhou history was repeated in the fierce political struggle between Li and Wu factions until the liquidation of Wuzhou history was finally completed after Xuanzong came to power.Taking the three political struggles of Shenlong coup,Tanglong coup and congenital coup as the main line,the historical writing of Wuzhou regime has been constructed one after another.Through the analysis of the changes of Wu Zetian Zun and Ji in the three stages,we can clearly understand the staged changes of the historical orientation of Wu Zetian and Wuzhou in the era of Zhongzong,Ruizhong and Xuanzong.The restored Li-Tang royal family could not wait to rewrite the history of the Wuzhou Dynasty as a victor,and the relevant historical events and characters of the Wuzhou Dynasty were systematically reshaped.As the chief culprit of usurping Tang Ding,Wu Zetian mainly focused on rebuilding his personal image when the history of Tang Dynasty tended to change the history of Wuzhou.Through specificexamples,Wu Zetian portrayed him as a powerful authoritarian mother of the Tang Dynasty and a desperate and murderous Emperor of Wuzhou.While building Wu Zetian's personal image,Shichen also promoted the establishment of Wuzhou,such as the Wu clan,courtiers who supported the "abolition of the king and establishment of Wu",and the image of Wuzhou cruel officials and other relevant historical figures.Their shortcomings were magnified to varying degrees,and their achievements were erased without missing traces.Finally,they completed the historical writing that met the political needs of the time.On the basis of the systematic construction of Wu Zetian,his relatives and ministers,Shichen negated the politics of Wuzhou.In order to denounce Wuzhou,historians,on the one hand,beautified the "Zhenguan Zhizhi" and "Kaiyuan Shengshi" that appeared under the rule of Li Tang before and after Wu Zetian usurped the throne,on the other hand,strongly attacked the cruel officials' politics and greatly criticized the rule of Wuzhou.In Wuzhou period,the origin of many important events and the original appearance of the characters were mostly distorted after being tampered with by the system,so we need to clarify them urgently.
