The Study Of Xiong Xiling’s Poetry

Xiong Xiling,born at Fenghuang county town in Hunan Province,was a famous politician,educator,philanthropist,industrialist and patriot in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China.He was also a poet in modern times.He had a great political and social influence in modern Chinese history and was known as "Xiong Fenghuang".Faced with the changes brought about by the transformation of modern social development,Xiong Xiling embarked on an official career and talked about politics,education and industry.He transformed the power of this life into tangible poetry and invisible words.Xiong Xiling wrote a lot of works,not only a large number of letters and family letters,but also many poems and a few couplets,especially his poems vividly reflect the glorious footprint of a patriot.However,most of the current academic studies on Xiong Xiling focus on his political thoughts,charitable education and industrial salvation.Few scholars regard Xiong Xiling as a scholar,so Xiong Xiling’s poems and other literary works have not been included in the scholars’ vision.In view of the fact that Xiong Xiling’s literary achievements have not received enough attention and research,or in a state of reclamation.This paper starting from Xiong Xiling’s poetry works to discuss his life,general situation of creation,content and value implication of poetry,studies his poetry works in the form of papers for the first time,which may be helpful to the Comprehensive study of Xiong Xiling.This paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter summarizes Xiong Xiling’s life and his creation,revealing the influence of cultural and social environment on his poetry creation,and also combs his writings comprehensively.The second chapter is about Xiong Xiling’s poems,which explores his spiritual world.From Xiong Xiling’s identity,this paper studies and discusses it from three aspects: patriots,philanthropists and educators.Xiong Xiling’s poems are nearly 170.They are not only rich in content,but also diverse in subject matter.They also include works of helping the world with the times,rewarding and giving,mountain-climbing and water-chanting,and nostalgia for the past.Of course,Xiong Xiling’s love and marriage lyrics to Mao Yanwen attract people’s attention with their unique content.Besides the traditional themes,Xiong’s poems have some unprecedented new themes,so Xiong Xiling’s poems have certain research significance and academic value.The third chapter is about the artistic characteristics of Xiong Xiling’s narrative sense of time in his poems.This chapter ismainly based on Xiong Xiling’s sense of time and narrative in his poems.It discusses the artistic characteristics of Xiong Xiling’s poems from his sense of time,the generality of documentary and the detail of narrative,the daily narrative and distinct autobiography.Throughout his poems,closely to the times and life,closely to the real life of the whole society,and integrated into one,effectively express political instability,the suffering of war-torn nations and the voice of the masses.At the same time,he tracked the footprints of his predecessors,grasped the pulse of the times,let his heart beat together with the rhythm of the times to feel the times and experience the times with his heart,and to turn what he saw,thought into silent poetry,singing for the times,so he has a strong and obvious sense of the times and reality.Xiong Xiling’s poetry also pays attention to the individual who expresses himself.Starting from daily life and life experience,Xiong Xiling’s poetry is narrative and autobiographical.The fourth chapter is about the value implication of Xiong Xiling’s poems.The literary value and educational value of his poems are discussed respectively.Xiong Xiling,as a member of the Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Western Hunan,integrates the literary value of his poems with the expression of national emotions,enriches the content of ethnic literature in Western Hunan,promotes the development of ethnic literature in Western Hunan,and reflects the value identity of the mainstream literature to a certain extent.Admittedly,it has a strong literary value.Secondly,Xiong Xiling’s poetry,as an integral part of Chinese poetry,obviously has the value orientation of education.This section mainly grasps the educational value of Xiong Xiling’s poems from the two aspects of "patriotism textbook" and "bridge of personality penetration".
