The Semantic Research Of “Qiu”

"Qiu" is a verb that is frequently used in Chinese,and its original meaning has disappeared.Due to its abstract meaning,the interpretation of "Qiu" in ancient Chinese is diverse.This article sorts out the ancient exegeses of "Qiu" and examines relevant controversial issues.The body of this paper is divided into three parts:The first part.Analyzing the connection and difference between "Qiu" and its exegeses by using Gu Xun Hui Zuan.On the basis of Related literature,summing up the meaning of "Qiu".Inducting the controversial interpretation of "Qiu",such as "ZuoQiu","QiuNiu","Huai Yi Lai Qiu".Summarizing the meanings of Chinese characters consisting of "?",and explaining the entanglement and final meaning of the "Qiu" voice put forward by the exegetical scholars.The second part.based on the Oracle literature,examines the early meaning of "seeking" and determines its core meaning.Under the guidance of the Core Meaning theory,explain the relationship among "request","demand","seek";observe the position change of the request object,explain the reason why the "seeking" constitutes pivotal sentences;explain the reason why "seeking" produces meaning of "blame".The last,Distinguishing the similarities and differences among "Qiu","Suo","Qi","Qing" and "Ze".
