German Romanticism is a literary trend of thought with a profound social and cultural background in the late 18 th and early 19 th centuries. The early German Romantic School, represented by the Schlegel Brothers,Schleiermacher,Novalis,Vulcanrod, whon is a pioneer of the German Romantic School. They took the Athenaeum as a stage of history and made the development of romantic theory.Schlegel leads the early German romantics in philosophy and aesthetics.,and has had a great impact on the romantic movement and literary trends.Schlegel's romantic aesthetic theory should be in line with the trend of German historical development, absorbing the essence of German classical aesthetics, and transcending the aesthetic style in the traditional sense. His aesthetic thought is a response to the times, satisfying the needs of the development of poetics of the times, and promoting the standard of judging art from classical to modern. His practice of criticism revolves around his aesthetic theory, including two aspects: romantic aesthetics and general criticism. This paper based on the F.Schlegel's aesthetic and critical theory, attempts to gain an overall understanding of the early German romantics. On this basis, from the perspective of modern aesthetics,Schlegel's romantic aesthetic theory still has far-reaching effect on the late German romantic movement.Romantic aesthetics pursues the aesthetic meaning of poetic life and transcends reality. From the perspective of modern aesthetics,it re-examines Schlegel's aesthetic theory and seeks the continuity of modernity of German romanticism.
