Avigdor · Arikha is a rare artist who returns from abstract painting to representational painting. The experience of war persecution in his childhood and the influence by Indian mysticism led him to show the reality of "illusory" in pure abstract painting language. However, when post-modern abstract art swept across Europe,Arikha began to live in the real world, and abandoned the abstract style, turning his attention to the "real visible world".At that time, the period of returning to figurative painting was unfolded. The paper is divided into three parts: The first part gives a brief overview of Arikha's painting styles in different periods,in which the main emphasis is the study of his painting style in the concrete period. It is also in this period that the works have a profound impact on my creation.Combined with his painting experience in the abstract period, the first part attempts to explain the reasons for the abstract elements in the concrete painting. The second part analyzes Arikha's painting language from three aspects, namely, the theme range, composition and emotional expression, together with the elaboration on some painting attempts I made after studying his works. In the third part, combining my own creative experience,I will center the discussion on my exploration and attempt for abstract factors in artistic creation.
